I just remembered watching a programme about prince called liquid assets on bbc3 a few years ago Where a black woman said that soul sanctuary was written by her. I dont know her name although I could find out, and she said that prince had heard her sing it and it was on his next album now that is thieft.

Was it Sandra St. Victor, who is clearly credited in the liner notes of Emancipation? That's not theft.

7 notes in a progression ..many octaves in between...surely any song is gonna have that same note at sometime..is that theivery?

Of course the same notes scales etc are going to be used in different songs Im talking about stealing an exact riff or melody from another song and using it in your own.

I got it off Housequake many years ago.... obviously it's a photoshopped creation, but it certainly freaked me out when I first saw it lol
