miko weaver ,dez dickerson (yes there are recordings from 1999 tour rehearsel of dez playing purple rain) mike scott ,levi seacer jr or wendy? who played the best intro chords to purple rain .since i think that purple rain chords sounds the best played on guitar my vote goes to miko weaver. while wendy is the most famous for playing those chords whenever she played it it seemed underpeformed ,its maybe she wasn't skilled enough on guitar back then. Where do you get that Wendy wasnt skilled? She has played guitar ALL her life and a accomplished musician as well. She was even born into a family of performers. Underperformed? POH LEEESE!!!! She was wonderful in the 80's playing those first chords. You obviously didnt grow up during that era did you? I think you need to read up a bit. Never let it b said that toots don't let u know what's on her mind-Freddy(L4OATheOriginal)

They all played it well. Don't really have a favorite. And Wendy (IMHO) did a great job back then. I watched the PARADE show the other night and she tore it up on rhythm guitar.

Scheesh! They're Wendy's chords! The way people dis Wendy around here, I can't believe it. Wendy is the Barack Obama of all of Prince's guitar players. She's completely qualified, but she gets constantly nay-sayed.

It isnt about being "touchy" as you put it. Its about how some dont understand that Wendy IS a acomplished musician even if some dis her or not.
