Ther best rema-die - PFUNK

for a basket full of lies is PFUNK.

By far, this is the best tune Prince has done in YEARS and it's just the a little thing like the "mis" pronouncation of remedy that reminds me of when Prince made us "think" about things lyric-wise. I can't believe this is the same person who wrote Get On The Boat.

More of this P, I know now you have it in you!

I have to agree -- this is one of his strongest tracks in years. Camille voice in full effect, loud guitar, weird nonsensical talking at the end, humorous...fans should piss Prince off more often. smile

It's a fantastic song, and one that demonstrates his charmingly eccentric talents as a songwriter.

I LOVE the song but that doesn't sound like the Camille voice.

I'd love it if it wasn't for the lyrics about cancer and chronic fatigue, bit out of order that bit...

I think a lot people misunderstood that part.....he was simply saying from the people with cancer all the way to the poor people, that he loved them. He didn't say anything hurtful or offensive IMO! shrug

I LOVE this song. Too funky. But do ya'll really think it is a new track?
I don't. I think that it has to be from the vault and he just reworked it a little to make it topical for release. And I'm SO glad he did!

I LOVE this song. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!! Proof that Prince hasn't lost a damn thing! Everything about this track is FONKAY! The voice, the attitude, the music of course. Prince at his best! God help me if he releases an album like F.U.N.K. I'll lose every part of my mind if he does that! lol lol
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I dunno... I think it's new. There's nothing to suggest that it's an old track. I think people just like to claim that it's an old outtake because they can't accept the fact that Prince has still "got it".

Heh, that's true. When I first heard it, I couldn't believe it was new Prince. It sounded so vibrant and alive, so chock full of attitude and inspiration. I hadn't heard that side of The Kid in a long, long while. Pity that Turn Me Loose failed to continue that streak.

Whether it's old or new is arbitrary because it isn't interesting or catchy.

If it's older and made within the time frame of an uninspired phase...
I think would give the answer to that question.
hmmm
Or I was thinking that maybe the subject matter held the inspiration,
he was pissed at the org and HQ and that fired up those creative juices.

Na can't agree with you, the way he says it sounds like hes saying 'I don't care if you've got cancer or chronic fatigue just don't bother me anymore' which isn't nice at all, actually quite nasty to people on here that might spend more time online due to being unwell...

Interesting, so you think its a dis to his online fans and he's saying that people who spend so much time online must be suffering from some malady such as "cancer, chronic fatigue, (or are) ugly or just plain poor" ??

Not sure I agree with that interpretation...he'll joke with his fans (and those who dish it out should be able to take it) but he's not one to be cruel to them. I just see it is a fun, funky, lighthearted song. I still don't think it is "new" though.

You won't hear Prince come out to straighten out this shit.... no matter what he says, people will not believe him... sad

If he comes out and says ... "YES", there are some people who will say he really meant "NO". lol

no not you pplrain, I mean if some folk are on here to take their minds off a serious illness than who is Prince to judge... I think he was saying 'I don't care why you are on here don't diss me no more' but ok some diss him but what about others that don't really but are unwell and read those lyrics... not nice. Great music just a shame about those particular lyrics.

Yep I do think hes saying that to people who are online too much, I don't think he thinks much of it... Thats what I think he means in those lyrics. I know I might be wrong and hes not going to say 'yes' or 'no' so I'll just leave it at the fact I just don't like those lyrics, but I like the music.
