June 7, 2008: the revelation?

In your opinion will Prince hold a press conference on June 7, when he turns 50, in wich he will announce to the world he is gay?
Maybe he kept his homosexuality secret until now beacuse he is worried over the impact this "inconvenient truth" would have on his fans.

Personally I find the fact that the very speculation that Prince might be gay or bi-sexual/bi-curious as being taboo on the org is silly. Sure, the subject is beat to death sometimes, but so are the "what's your favorite song, etc. etc." type subjects.


If it were any other celebrity or person in our real lives, with the same characteristics and traits (mannerisms, dress, appearance), you bet there would be wild speculation. shrug



Besides, Prince. is. gay. We voted on it years ago. Mods, update the Q&A part of the site and put this to bed once and for all. lock

Im sure the type of person that he is, which is not fearful to say certain things and be outspoken would have admited to being gay and the way paparazzi these days are always in peoples business would have found a picture or someone would have come out to say he was gay years ago

This is a stupid ass thread. Prince is not gay, never has been. He said so himself in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in the early 80's. He's been involved with tons of beautiful women all his life and never has any proof whatsoever surfaced of him being involved with a dude. Period.

Im not sure what gay looking is - I think its a new phenomenon where people are sexually assigned a group upon their fashion or 'look'.

There are many skinny arse skimpy clothes wearing wierdos in the rock world that definitely like women. Its an accepted thing that not all guys fit the 'macho' stereotype, doesnt automatically make them gay.

Anyway back on topic, its highly unlikely Prince will announce anything like that.

If hes still JW which I suppose he is, then he wont celebrate his birthday as he said 'it marks time' etc - whatever!

Hes even less likely to tell you his sexuality. I think his long record in his lyrics tells you that loud and clear. Fetish for bondage, S&M, all kinda stuff

as for george michael, he only 'came out' cos he got nicked and was outed.

I always thought he looked like he liked the boys. Everyone always joked Andrew was his boyfriend even back then! My dad always thought so, he claimed any guy who wore two earrings was definitely batting for the other side. the funny thing is that stereotype of the 70s brought into the 80s and flouted by george made loads of straight guys go get both ears pierced (uk anyway) and now its acceptable heck normal for us all to have anything you like pierced regardless of sexual orientation.

I think george has said he wasnt gay then anyway, or thought he wasnt but was unsure. That could be a lie to not upset his early fans who were sold something to believe in and then had that taken away.

This isn't 100% true.

You left out broad swaths of several demographic populations that care.

For example, parents with daughters reaching their upper teenage years, all hope and pray that he is gay, lest their daughters become the next Mayte.

Dominant homosexuals looking for submissive bottoms probably would like to know as well.

Look, I guess what I'm saying is there are a lot of reasons why one might be curious about it, and not all of it comes from a homophobic place.
