Everybody is going to love it or hate it or fall somewhere in between.

I loved it, I liked the lyric change because with that, he made it a little bit his own while not detracting from the fact that he's paying some form of homage to Yorke & Co.

That's what's great about covers, you can do what you like with them without causing too much damage (unless you really eff it up, which Prince is not likely to do...)

I sooo wish I could've been there live, but for now the tube will have to do until the Sheriff breaks up the party and sends us all back to our cubicles.

but your right, he does try to put his own spin on these covers but you can't do that at the expense of the lyric...especially if the changes make you look as if you don't understand the meaning of the words in the first place.

Sos, I see your point about song integrity. But in fairness, until I hear it, I need to see if if the minor alteration in lyrics changes the flow of the song drastically.
