I wish P could make a horn section, funk guitars and retro sounds as HOT as Mark ronson.. How is it that when P does horns and guitar it sounds like the same old , same old[still very enjoyable but...]. Go listen to Just by mark ronson, I have always hated the thought of P having a producer but his work with Amy Winehouse + his covers album wher he totally funks everything up really does make you realise how 1 dimensional P can be. On the other hand P is and will always be the best live performer! | |

Mark Ronson's stuff is great and I especially like the way he puts a different twist on covers, HOWEVER his horn section is as loose as hell.

That's why there are other artists in this world aside from Prince, so you can enjoy a variety. I'm certain that even Prince listens to other music aside from his own.

Just because u like the way someonne else creates music doesn't mean Prince is lacking because he doesn't do it the same way. Enjoy Mark Ronson for what he brings to music. WHAT????? I like Mark Ronson - but that statement is OTT - listen to his album all in one go and thought that it all started to sound a bit 'samey' Life is short!Break the rules!Forgive quickly!Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably

That's just silly. perfectly valid opinion/comparison IMHO, no diffrent to how we compare Prince's playing to Jimmi, his dancing to James, his Sly Stone rip offs etc. Point being that that Mark use's the same instruments on this record and indeed the cover he did with Lilly Allen which both [IMHO!]frankly blows prince out of the water with two solid slabs of funk n' soul. My whole angle here is that i'd wish P showed more imagination and daring and stopped holding back[as we all know he can i.e. PFunk].I suspect I speak for many in that respect. | |

----- I like how Mr.Ronson has taken a old sound and given it a new spin but, I do not think the horns lines are that funky. Funk is never one-dimensional and P is funky dude. | |
