Why is Musicology out-of-print?

Why is Musicology out of print? It is no longer on iTunes, FYE.com says it is discontinued, and Bestbuy.com says that it is backordered? This is such a great album. What's up with P's catalogue?

Try Ticketmaster.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were still be trying to unload some by giving you one with every ticket that you order, regardless if was for a Prince show or not.
I figure, at this point in time, why would they give a fuck, y'know....?

Ignore this post.

that's the problem with these one-off record deals and not being signed to one steady label. once the distribution deal has expired, there's no reason for the label to keep distributing the album.

I have a theory that perhaps that is what Prince wants....Many of his albums are out of print or soon will be. It's almost along the lines of "get while you can because once they are all bought...only those who own will have" Who knows...maybe someday PR or SOTT will be highly sought after as rare music.

It is the one off deals he does. Once the deal is finished the record company has no reason to keep the CD in stock. Prince moves to a new company and the company has no interest in the CD anymore.
