After watching Batman Begins and assuming that The Dark Knight will take on a similar, if not even darker tone, then there's no way on earth Prince should do the soundtrack. His music simply wouldn't fit in with the current Batman vibe and I think it would cheapen the movie. If in doubt, lob it out!

He should contribute to the soundtrack, but not do the whole thing.

thats the thing though, it would be very interesting to see prince do a darker piece of work, such as the film score (or a contribution to it as mentioned). would be a nice change of direction for him musically, a good challenge for him to branch out yet again. Wouldn't you love to love me?

I believe that Prince would be fantastic for writing music for that Soundtrack...and Prince really did look adorable in, "Partyman." As the Joker, Jr. Here we are in this big ole' empty room, starin' eachother down.
U want me just as much as I want U, let's stop foolin' around.~Prince

Dance With The Devil (the outtake from the 1989 Batman sessions) might actually fit in pretty well.

I'd got quite the opposite impression actually , especially as the new Joker looks less like the comic book version , just a white face , not overall body bleaching , whereas Tim Burton's origin of how The Joker was made is pretty much exactly how it happened in the original comics . Sure his backstory was different but the falling into a vat of chemicals is how The Joker was born , thats always been understood and accepted . My Prince Homepage with TV Gallery , interviews and lyrics to NPGMC and bootleg releases .
