I'd just like to share with you all that I thank PRINCE so very much for making/recording that song! I'm listening to it now and it's OFF THE HOOK! It sounds just as great now as it did when it had come out in the 80s.

Agreed,tho the ONLY thing I dont like are the chipmunk voices. Other than that...

Strangely, and I guess I should just say so,
I Love all of Prince's music...as a rule..., some songs I like more than other's for whatever reason...
If I was to line up all of Prince's songs, from my favorite to least favorite, even if the difference was the smallest fraction, because, I like everything.

"Erotic City" falls in the bottom 5 for me, Why? I don't know.

I've been sitting here thinking about why, I don't enjoy the song. First of all, If I were to draw a line, and all of the songs that were above the line, were songs that I liked or really loved....All but 5 songs would fall above the line....

The five songs, I don't like, and could live with never hearing again are:
Erotic City
Freaks on this side
Face down
Joint 2 Joint
Bacon Skin


Out of all of Prince's songs, that's not so bad. Because it's limited to just these. And this is the only negative comment I will ever have.

I luv that song,
but don't believe the hype.
They play that song on the radio, because they want us to believe that Prince says "funk" instead of "fuck".
Just another example of the Man trying to keep us down.

I remember when this DJ in Chicago named Bob Wall played 'Erotic City' on WGCI radio and was suspended for one day because the song did not have clearance to play. We called in swearing to God that Prince did not say fuck, but funk. One of the mixmasters of the day, mixed 'Erotic City' so it would say "We can funk until the dawn" leaving out "making love til cherry's gone."

Erotic City was the #1 requested radio airplay song in 1984 in the city of Chicago.

This song gets me on the dance floor at every Prince Night.
