Haven't listened to Gold in aaaages... or TGE for that matter. It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

One of the cheesiest songs he ever did. I can't stand this cheese and in no way is it better than "Purple Rain."
The Gold Experience is an overrated album. Besides I Hate U, Shhh, and The Most Beautiful Girl In The World, the album is cheesy and overrated. Dolphin and Gold have to be some of the cheesiest songs he's ever done. Garbage. Kick the old school joint 4 the true funk soldiers.

It's not better than Purple Rain (no song is, in my opinion), but it is a great song.
The lyrics are a little trite for some, but that doesn't bother me. The song has a wonderful energy, and the message sums up his 90's experience succinctly. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

It was the one song during the summer in London where I couldn't wait for it to finish. Would have much preferred to hear Gold live. It probably is his best album of the nineties (I prefer The Truth), but that's not saying much. | |

I've always thought TGE to be the 90's equivilent OF Purple Rain.
It's definately the best album of the 90's. All the songs sit extremely together. A very polished and well put together album. Life's a Parade! LoveLife, LoveSexy! | |

i love gold, i love the gold experience album and tour and would rather hear him do gold live than purple rain anyday 
there's a lady 99 years old if she led a good life heaven takes her soul ... man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |
