that reminds me of another duet i love, The Voice with Prince and
Mavis Staples. 'Tap tap tappin on your window like a fallin rain,
crying like a baby in a cradle, sayin 'pick me up, pick me up again!'
'Night sticks are still ringin' four part harmony on a
brother's back... justice is served when there's no S-H and
I-T in all of that..'

I am only calling it like I see it. And chances are, my collection of Prince music & work by related artists puts yours to shame. But before you distort facts any further, let's review:

1) In your reply here, you claim that everyone has their opinions & that's fine. So why then do you & yours feel the need to attack me for having some of my own merely because they are often critical of Prince? I was once very fond the guy's music; never the man himself. Too bad if that riles you up as much as it seems to. Too bad that I am not fond of either at the moment.

I anticipate that you'll ask why I come here if I no longer like what he's doing musically? Well, like many other long-time fans, I'm hoping he does an about face & stops sucking.

And if you take the purple-tined blinders off your eyes, you may notice that not every topic up for discussion here is focused on what Prince is doing now (thank goodness, because it's not much), but spans the entire length of his career. Many, many people find the Prince of 1987 more talented, interesting & relevant than the Prince of 2007. Granted, he was probably as big a jerkoff then as he is now, but the lack of the Internet & the ability to spread & communicate just how big of a jerkoff he was at the time leaves that something of a mystery, unlike today where that fact is crystal clear.

2) On one recent thread, I make a statement that Americans need to realize that there is a world rich in culture beyond our own borders & AMAZINGLY, some European (your buddy, presumably) had a problem with that statement:

viewaskew said:
No, it means that most Americans just have their heads so far up their own asses that they don't bother with talent outside their own borders until they hear about it on Mtv or Access Hollywood.
There is a world outside America. It's actually been around for quite a while.

How does that make sense? Really? How is that not imbecilic? Blind self belief that as an American I can understand that this country is not the center of the universe? To any rational individual, it'd sooner indicate that my eyes are wide open.

2) On another thread, you seem to think I'm Kevin Smith, presumably because of my screenname. How is that not idiotic? Are you Prince? You've got a picture of Prince in your profile, so you must be! Does purplejedi have control of The Force? He must, of course...

Perhaps you should have asked that question before buying this piece of crap.

purplepolitician said:
such nastiness. got anything nice to say? huh, kev? or did you come here just to shit on everything prince has done that YOU don't like.

What difference does it make why I come here? Do YOU come here to sprinkle thoughts of golden rainbows on everything Prince has done that you do like? You'd have to sprinkle a truckload on drivel like Xpectation, I'm afraid. You're going to have to realize that not everyone has their lips surgically connected to the man's ass.

Forgive me for creating articulate statements of discontent that people would rather attack & whine about than effectively counter. Forgive me for missing points that haven't been made. Forgive me for not throwing lame Prince references into my replies ("such nastiness?"). Forgive me for not typing like an 11 year old girl with 2s, 4s, Us, etc. Or don't forgive me. I don't care.

I could go on, but you're just not worth the effort. Truth be told, I have been enjoying this site since the mid 1990s when it was still white text on a black background, longer than many here, I'd imagine. And one of the reasons I've enjoyed it for as long as I have is because it's not a site full of butt-kissing mongoloids (although you do have your place here of course). There's room for debate. There's room for reality. You're welcome to join me in that realm anytime.

i like this one 2...very sexy indeed! it's a v nice song. she is having a lotta fun..& was flirting with him - the minx!
it struck me tht the minute he got near her, he lost his coolness & went 2 pieces on the mic!
he is looking just spanking hot in this footage! razz had he put on some weight?

i would like 2 do a duet with prince, but since i can't sing & only ever played the recorder at school he would have 2 join me in a round of 'london's burning'
very apt i think as he had london sizzling all summer...'fetch the engines! & pour on water!'

if i'm not worth the effort. what's with the long ass post about me then? i could go on about how much i dislike my medallion or right the wrong or pheromone as well. just like i skip over those tracks i don't feel the need to talk (bad) about them but focus on the songs i do like. i'd rather listen to the stuff i like then sit here and debate why i like them with you. that's just not my thing. i've said it before that p was better in the 80s. there's no doubt about that. doesn't mean everything after is crap. and i don't care how he is in real life cuz i'm never gonna have to be around him. i appreciate and relate to who he is on record and on stage. call me blind, but i can separate the two. you can feel however you want, i don't care. my main problem with you was the name-calling. if we disagree, whatever, it doesn't mean i'm shit just cuz i don't feel the way you do. your statements aren't very articulate when you have to say that shit. the kevin smith thing was a joke. like you said, because of your name. i do have a sense of humor. unlike you, who seems to have his lips surgically connected to his own ass. wink
For all time I am with you, you are with me.
