Prince Country album Prince should do a country album. Not Cuntry like Toby Keith, Brooks and Dunce type crap. I'm talking like Wille Nelson, Johnny Cash, Hank Sr. Ernest Tubbs Country.

Being the great song writer Prince is, I bet it would be the best Country album in the last 30 years. Despite the fact that, being the great song writer he is, he hasn't made a good "Prince" album since 1995. He should stick to his own genre until he gets his game back.

BTW he has actually covered quite alot of ground in this territory and a fix up with Tori Amos is long due If it were not for insanity, I would be a sane man today

And mix it with the early 80's Jamie Starr vibe: "She lost a shoe in the woods, and i sincerely wanna fuck the taste outta her mouth - yee-ha!"

when I heard his first sample of 'black sweat' I thought it was going to have a country flavor to it.

I do consider Becks Sea Change on the lines of a country album.... and its brilliant. That's the kind of thing I'm talking about. I bet Prince would be wicked on the pedal steel, mandolin, and banjo. Throw in a couple fiddles maybe an accordian and you got yourself some hot stuff. "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" would make a good country song.

Then we'd have Larry Graham on the washtub bass and Sheila E on the washboard.

I'm not surprised that someone wants Prince to do a country album. I knew that once Prince got a more diverse audience that even country music wouldn't be out of the question for them. I never would have heard a Prince fan requesting a country album before "Little Red Corvette". The Prince fans of that era would have stoned the person for even bringing it up. On the plus side you have "Purple Rain" which is blatantly a country song (hear Leane Rimes version for the doubters amongst you) on the minus side we have "Right The Wrong" which is a musical act of terrorism so atrocious P should be sent to Guantanamo Bay.

there's definitely a "hoedown" influence present at times in his work. Songs like The 1 U Wanna C is a prime example.
