1999 princes worse album??

dont know about you guys but i love all of princes album, but this one is not that good, i love 1999,little red corvette and delirious but thats about it! what do yous think?? is it just me? biggrin

Those are like the 3 worst on there. The rest of the album is incredible. As a concept and everything involved. FOr me Iit marked the first full album where he found the FUNK and he's been jamming ever since.

Matter of taste and mood. Just lay down in bed, relax, put on your discman (or something newer), not too hard and listen to Something in the water does not compute (talk about passion!), Free, Automatic, All the critics love you in NY. And yes maybe you should listen more often to them, sometimes your feeling changes over time by doing this.

Or something in the water, or DMSR, or Automatic or All the critics? International Lover was a cue to things we'd hear later on like Temptation. The videos to some of these songs are CRAZY!

1999 was like 100 years ahead of its time!

The music still sounds fresh (even though the production leaves a little to be desired)

It's maybe his best collection of songs. Nearly every one is a classic in its own way. And for those that want the daring Prince, Prince was never more daring. The songs stretched out forever, but they didn't get dull. The rock was at it's best, the funk was at its best, the pop was at it's best.

Prince's music got more interesting, but it might not have ever gotten better than on 1999.

Have you not listened to 'Planet Earth'? It has it's own dedicated landfill site! Actually, thinking about it, it's slightly ironic that the O2 is built on an old landfill site (I think), and sooo many copies that were given away at those concerts will be filling some other hole in China or wherever we ship our rubbish to these days!
