Poll: who believes there are more Prince haters on prince.org than Prince fans??

At this time there are probable more negative responses than positive.Can you blame them?

Prince haters aren't on prince.org. Prince haters don't give Prince a half thought until he does something boneheaded like alienate what's left of his fan base! Then they show up to instigate and signify.

For the record, I know some "fams" exactly the same way.

To be a fan does not mean to agree with everything he decides to do.You can still respect his musical genius,but disagree with the decisions he makes as a man.He is not perfect,and you don't have to be a hater to have opinions about what is going on.

I think the IS alot of negativity here on the org. I dont post here as often as I used to because of it. I feel a real lack of maturity here as opposed to other boards. It gets very old. I like to have fun, but theres alot of useless nonsense here. I think labeling fans certain things because of their enthusiasm is wrong, though opinions should be able to be expressed, it can be done in a more polite way. Being honest is one thing, but its how you say it. Being critical of P is another. If you dont like something he does, no big deal. I wouldnt expect anyone to, but again theres a way to say it.

I can see that there are musicians that have personal opinions about the music, that are purely constructive criticizm in their opinions, However, some of the posts, are purely childish personal attacks on Prince's character.

There are a few of us that will stand up to this, because of the sincere love that we have. Even in a marriage, communication, can become a problem if the way we express ourselves isn't respectful.

If a member doesn't like something that Prince says or does...They can simply say just that...

Guess what? I don't want to go to some pseudo religious, fake as hell website that Prince spits out. Heavy moderation, looney people who think they fart out rainbows, and no right to be negative ever.

That's not my idea of freedom.

Personally, if I felt this was nothing more than a Prince fan site diguised as an anti-Prince site, I would have left years ago. There is a lot of negativity here but it is what it is. prince.org is like being a Prince fan in general. Either you'll go along with the ride, good or bad, or you'll leave. There are plenty of fams here. I'm a fan myself. I'm not drinking koolaid behind nobody. I have a mind of my own.

It seems to be that if you say anything positive about Prince, you're immediately derided as being a 'fam' - that seems to stand for simple, stupid, niaive or something similar!

I came on here for news and information and initially to read and share people's experiences from the O2 in London. Most of the comments then were really positive. However, I feel slightly intimidated by some of the Orgers and their comments at times. There also seems to be a 'snobbishness' with some people who think they're more 'authentic' than others. I still love reading the threads here, and some are really funny, but it all seems to get a bit 'heavy' at times.

Anyway, still glad to be part of the fun.....

They have told me that this site is the only one that doesn't seem to kiss Prince's ass or worship him like a God and that they agree with a lot of the negative responses as well as the positive ones.

I think that speaks volumes about why this site is still here. With every positive there's a negative and vice versa. I may grit my teeth when I read some things, good and bad, but it's all of that and the fact that we all can get along usually that make this website a cool place to be a part of. I'm proud to be a member of prince.org.
