What would you tell Prince if you were face to face with him?

Seriously,What advice would you give Prince if you could talk directly to him?

Prince, we've spoken a few times before, but this time, you are off the scale.

Relax. They support you, not hate you.

In fact, use them. Put every show and every dat up for sale! You'll make a killing!

I'd tell him to talk directly to us...no lawyers, no representatives...his words, his mouth...

...and bring back the minneapolis sound...

I would tell him to take a vacation.

I would tell him to travel the world for a few months. Go on a safari in Kenya. Travel the crumbling backstreets of the Casbah. Climb to the top of Machu Pichu. Spend a week with Inuit fishermen. Meditate with Tibetan monks. Help build a school for some village in Cambodia.

Let the world reset & recharge your soul.

Then remember that your main love is MUSIC.

Not fashion. Not the internet. Not legal conferences.

Pick up a guitar and play. Not to create the next hit. But to relay your inner feelings through strums of the six-string. Your little Myspace "rant" proves that the fire is still in there...buried beneath layers of finely-tailored silk and linen.

So please, take a vacation. Leave the lawyers behind. In fact, take Ryan Adams with you.

There's no advice I could really give him.
As far as I'm concerned, with his music, he's doing what he feels is right for him. He's always believed in his talents and in the end, he comes up with a product that he is proud of.

I know there were a few occasions where he'd admit afterwards that he wasn't pleased with the result. But that's why he doesn't look back much. He won't have to worry about having regrets about past mistakes because he's always moving forward.

All I would say is "continue doing what you're doing, Prince. Keep writing music however you feel its meant to be written."

With the few albums I own (17 is less than half of his reporteire), I have found very few disappointments. And if so, either that song didn't work for me or I worked with an album until I find a way to make it "work 4 me."

Call me cheesy or w/e else. I have little complain about his music. With the skeleton of his reporteire that I own having few disappointments, whatever he's doing, he's doing something right.
