this is VERY interesting i too thought that planet earth was about a girl u no, unrequited love etc and then i thought chelse rodgers or the model who pretends to be her has upset him re: pictures of her with some guy - the lyrics at the beginning suggest that but the more i listened it really sounds like camille has reared her funky crazy head and thats the real battle. so like an old prince song, funky controversial, not one bit religious maybe the people he dont care what they say is camille not listening to his puppeteer advisers or indeed 'hopefully' not the larry grahams of this world, maybe he has started to recover from his griefs of the last few years and is reverting to type.
