Hey I am grateful for Prince even having a website, and its updates when he was performing were great to read, but there are no new updates, no new pics about what Prince is upto.

Am I expecting too much? Maybe Prince isnt doing anything and its my unreasonable desire to know his every move which is wrong.

But come on it hasnt even got a forum either-when is 3121 going to start acting like a proper artist webiste?

Yeah it is pretty dull as an artist site, but then he won't give us lots of vids to look at and if he does only for a small period of time. He won't be putting lots of new(or old)pics on there I don't know really what more we could expect in a way.

I have to agree. It needs more updates. I don't even go to it anymore unless someone posts a thread here about something new over there.

I check it all the time god knows why cos there is never anything new on it-except the odd non-Prince related update!!

Its not just about having regular updates, some vidoes would be nice-since its impossible to view them anywhere else now, or maybe a discography would be even better, even a few pictures would do!

He has a timeline with album and career history.

Mind you he is not record comapny-less so maybe he doesn't mind selling his back catalogue, whereas Prince seems to want to downplay if not outright deny his past.

Petty fought with his company alot but from what I know he never severed ties.

I should have clarified:

LIVE he plays anything and everything.
but I mean more in terms of record sales and promoting WB's sales

He doesn't downplay his old music, but his image and style. he doesn't look back that way often.

In many interviews when asked questions he gives some BS mystical answer that he doesn't concentrate on the past and only looks forward. Kind of like a cheating husband :p

Petty's site lists singles and albums and artwork, and given that Prince cut ties with WB he probably can't do that easily.

so while everyones expectations wasn't met , and you can't please everyone there was some great events that happened in the 6 years of the npg so I personally have no regrets as to what's happening now at 3121.

I imagine as an outsider Prince may not want this current site to mirror the past, you... might say it doesn't have to and why couldn't we enjoy the back catalog pics videos etc but the NPG was an experiment,in which went right for some and wrong for Prince and what he was trying to achive.

I wouldn't be surprised if our next way of finding out Prince's next show went back to basics when back in the day I would walk past a billboard and stop deadin my tracks ! or seeing a full page newspaper ad which would bring back the element of surprise imo.

I will say one option missing on the 3121 site should be fans being able to buy tickets directly on the site , I predicted long ago and im sure others felt the same, that the npg would be gone and a new site would emerge with only updates and concert info minus forums. The bottom line is as much as his music brought all walks of life together at the end of that day when it's time to intergrate ideas thoughts and views thats when harmony gets thrown out the window look at the bright side we have dedicated folks who take the time to keep these forums going no matter where one chooses to post
