Desperate is the day that is 2morrow 4 those who do not know the time has come 2 whip the dogs that beg, steal or borrow From the table God set 4 his son Wicked is the witch that stands 4 nothing All the while watching 2 see u fall Deeper than the ditch that bred your suffering The one being dug right now by them all Happy is the way 2 meet your burdens No matter how heavy or dark the day Pity on those with no hope 4 2morrow Its never as bad as it seems until we say Precious is the baby with a mother That tells him that his saviour is coming soon All that believe will cleanse and purify themselves Put down the needle, put down the spoon {x2} Sacred is the prayer that asks 4 nothing, oh While seeking 2 give thanks 4 every breath we take, oh Blessed are we inside this prayer 4 in the new world, we will be there The only love there is, is the love we make {x2} (the only love there is, is the love we make) Only love there is, only love there is The only love there is, is the love we make (yeah) The only love there is, is the love we make Me too, when I first heard it I cried like a baby. This song and the Emancipation album don't get nearly enough love. "After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill...the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill...you stay in wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes."

One of his best songs; not just from the 90's, but from his entire catalogue. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
"You still wanna take me to prison...just because I won't trade humanity for patriotism."

Disc three of Emancipation; his carefully planned would-be hit album that you can now buy for pennies. [Edited 10/14/07 20:54pm] The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I really wish he re-made this, I heard this song at a musicology aftershow and omg it was just jaw dropping... this song is great, but I don't like the feel of the music created from the emancipation era!!

It's a great song, but it's too bad he messed up the drum part.

From memory, it was written as a tribute to Jonathon Melvoin (brother of Wendy and Susannah) who played a bit on ATWIAD and Parade.

He joined the Smashing Pumpkins on tour in the mid 90's and died of a heroin overdose. Correct! Tis a great song - one of my fave cuts from the album. In fact, that third disc has a very strong collection of songs on it. ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love, you make. Ludwig: You find yourself amusing, Blackadder.

How so? He should have hired Michael B. for this song. Prince ain't a great drummer anymore. His drumming on the first 2 albums was OK, but it very much decayed through the years.

His drumming on the first 2 albums was OK, but it very much decayed through the years. His drumming hasn't decayed and in places is quite brilliant. His snare work on Lady Cab Driver and Tamborine is great and his drumming on the track Crystal Ball is quite outstanding (for a multi-instrumentalist anyway) and his more recent drumming has been just fine (alot more tracks from his last 3 albums have him playing drums more than adequately). Prince also is not playing live drums on this track - they actually sound more programmed than live beats. In either case, they would have either been played or programmed by Kirk J.
