I'd go with 'A 1000 Hugs and Kisses (possibly my all time favourite Prince song, I've only heard it once, live at the O2 but it had me bawling)

moviestar08 said:

u never heard the studio version of "1000 hugs and kisses"? i think it was done in 93-94, and it has Nona and Prince's vocals on it. Its pretty good. i didnt manage 2 hear the O2 version? describe it please

Nope, never - I wasn't aware that it was ever released on an album? The 02 version on 31st August was mind blowing. He was at the piano, and asked for all the lights to be lowered. We sat in darkness, and it was soft and sweet, and lilting and loving, it was as though he truly meant every word.

Goodness, I'm feeling teary just thinking about it!

Eh? You're a Prince fan on a Prince fansite and you would rather your life ended than hear some of his music on one of the happiest days of your life? confused

The first song was Betcha by golly wow

and the video had TMBGITW dubbed over a section

How tacky is it to play Prince songs at a wedding for your first dance. Very.

I'm a Nine Inch Nails fan too, but I sure as hell wouldn't play any of that either.

lol

I got married in 88 and our first dance was Purple Rain. This was followed by Kiss. Ahh happy days. We are still together and still both following Prince so maybe it was a good choose.

Prince has written loads of fantastic love songs, can't imagine anything less tacky to be honest. What is a suitable first dance song? Bryan Adams, Everything I Do I Do It For You?

Dance to "Black Sweat"

Seriosuly. It'd be classic. You could play out the music video! People would never forget your first dance.

I got married on May 5th this year. We played several songs throughout:

Arboretum= She came out to this instead of the traditional bridal march (makes me tear up everytime I hear it)

West- We played as guests were arriving (although I had to edit this to remove the last heavy part)

P's Version of Betcha By Golly Wow- that was our first dance.

The Most Beautiful Girl In The World- Father and Daughter Dance

Kiss-The Garter song

And virtually everything else throughout the reception..

Wow. What a fantastic combination! Unfortunately the first 3 were not out when Cheryl & I married but we started with the opening from For you, then danced to D&P, TMBGITW.

If I was marrying a computer geek, I'd choose, "Erotic City."
If I was marrying an artist, I'd choose, "Da Bang"
If I was marrying a mechanic, I'd choose, "Lady Cab driver."
If I was marrying my x-husband, I wouldn't have a reception at all.
