The difference is, gay men have slept with women in their past when they were in denial and felt that it was what they were supposed to do to be "normal". A so-called "straight man" (and I don't consider them straight) that sleeps with a man, sleeps with one because he wants to. They actually get pleasure out of sleeping with other men. We don't seek them out, they come down to our clubs and seek us out. I've slept with women back when I was in the closet and in denial. I consider myself gay but if that makes me bisexual, then I have no problem accepting it. All I ask is that these so-called "straight men" that sleep with other men acknowledge that they are least bisexual. They refuse to do that though because they want to feel superior or above us gay men by calling themselves straight. They are also the biggest gay bashers in the world. They hate someone like me because I don't let them get away with thinking they are better than me. I don't even let them think they are on the same level as me. I put them on a level beneath me because I know and accept what I am, they don't accept what they are. They want to experience the pleasure that comes with bisexuality but they don't want to face the prejudice that goes along with it. They are weak. If they can't do the time, don't do the crime. . . . That's pretty funny. Let's take the example of Justin Timberlake's producer Timbaland. So, the producer Timberland sung over his own tracks first? Then, Justin Timberlake sung them?! Hahahahahaha... You're pretty delusional. A producer doesn't have to sing a track, at all, in order to give instruction, on a song. Prince sung that song with those lyrics because he wanted to do it. Is Prince gay? He might be. Here's a "When You Were Mine" lyric: "I never cared. I never was the kind to make a fuss. When he was there...sleeping IN BETWEEN the two of us." Songwriter and producer are two different things.I know what I'm talking about. The singer can't just know how the lyrics are to be sung.They can give their own interpretation, but unless they are psychic they would'nt know how to sing them unless the songwriter show them.Let's just say if you never heard When Doves Cry before.Someone give you the music and some hand written lyrics, would you know how to sing them exactly the way Prince sang them.Anyways , I'm pretty sure all other songwriters do the same. | |

Prince obviously does not identify as gay. In my book, that mean he's not gay. End of story. It can be assumed that most men have crossed the line at times in their lives. Some more than others...It's not really a big deal. It doesn't mean anything about one's particular sexual identity or gender. Gay and straight are just stupid labels that don't tell the full story of anyone's sexuality. Oddly, I saw Prince with Tamar at the Fillmore in SF. The dancers pulled up this guy who seemed pretty obviously gay... I don't remember EXACTLY what was said, but I do remember Prince making some kind of quick dismissive comment toward the guy regarding his gender presentation. I remember thinking it was REALLY hypocritical of Prince. Prince, wants to wear women's panties (basically) and still be one of the guys. After all these years, regardless of what he's done and who he's been, Prince still can't seem to break free from a base level hetero-sexism. That short little incident was really disappointing to me. I wanna know where this person is bcuz I wanna hear this story like soooo many others in here! surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water

I remember from years ago, don't know if it was a spoken or written interview that Prince himself pointed out that this sexual and gayisch image he was spreading was part of a role he was playing for fun, something like even bad attention is attention.
I cannot find it back though but I'm sure as hell he has said this. For him this has always been a great PR stunt and it worked out just the way he wanted.

I also know another guy that used to live in Los Angeles who said Prince used to send someone into a gay club to pick up a guy for him. This sounded very believable until the guy said he saw a guy getting into a limo, and when the door opened, there was Prince sitting there. I'm sure if Prince wanted a guy, he would stay at his hotel room and send someone to a club to pick one out for him. I can't see Prince taking the chance of being seen in the vacinity of the gay club. I've heard a lot of stories about Prince being with women, these stories come from the women themselves etc. Also, he was heavily checking out a cousin of mine when she went to see him back in the early 90's. I've never heard a single thing about him being interested in men at all. I have a closeted cousin, and a few of us in the family knew for years before he even admitted it himself. If Prince was even slightly interested in men there would be some tell-tale signs, but I've never seen any. |

He talked about kissing the girl in the band, and hugging the drummer (or something similar) and said "That's rock'n'roll" and "there was a bit of acting going on too" - good interview - he mentions MJ and the 'Bad' video - funny! | |
