I agree! I think that song is really beautiful, his voice really blends with the music. It's hard 4 me to listen to this song bcuz I'm afraid it's gonna start the waterworks.

the song gets very little love here... but the moment I heard it the first time, it was watching "Love 4 One another" on HQ back in early March... I knew it was gonna be huge 4 me.
I call it a "soul tattoo" for me because it just hits me in such a special place that no other song he's written can touch it.

1992 - 2007 is his very best period as a recording artist in popular opinion . his musicianship got more advanced .. there was a blog asking people to do a BEST OF CD from 1993 - 2007 .. I did a 2 disc set an saw each song as essential as the other .. so picking one song .. damn! . thats impossible .. but i'll say THE ONE U WANNA C .. just cos no-one else has said it .... an yes GOLD is an always will be one of his very best songs .. so what if the odd one or two people dont like it .. those who do .love it! .. myself included . that is an anthum only rivaled by PURPLE RAIN ..

GOLD is a brilliant song imo.....one of his very best.....his last really big hit in the uk ...reached number 10 in sales and number 2 in airplay over here....remember it was always on the radio....strange he didnt play it once during the recent gigs.....it wasnt a hit in america...maybe prince doesnt realise it was a big hit over here....i would pick that and empty room as my two favourites...
