Prince seeing Time songs? Hi, wasn't Movie Star on Crystal Ball written for the Time. It is the only song I don't really dig too much on the first CD. But, maybe that has to do with it being written for someone else. Are there any recordings that you have heard that Prince wrote for someone else that he sings. Is there a recording of him doing Manic Monday for example, what do they sound like? Cheers | |

Yes, there is a version of Manic Monday with him singing on it. I can't remember off the top of my head who sang the lead on it. Susannah, maybe? Whoever it is can carry a tune, so I know it isn't Apollonia.

Movie Star has Morris Day written all over it. Still, it's cool to hear one of Prince's "rough guides" for The Time...

He's laid down vocal tracks for many of the artists he gave songs to, giving them something to follow when singing it for themselves. Many of these tracks are in circulation among fans. In fact, one is hugely popular by fans and was released as a b-side. Check "17 Days." Lyrics make more sense if you knew it was meant for Brenda B. to sing. | |
