The first time I heard a song from Prince is the song HEAD.Though not released as an Album (Dirty Mind), it was released as a single.

I was hoping to dress something like Prince. toned down a bit like Prince if he was just going to the zoo or the supermarket... casual Prince!

I'd obviously heard him before when I was young, but it was Gett Off that really made me sit up and take notice in 91 when I was 14.

"I Wanna Be Your Lover" - I remember it clearly. I was in the car with my aunt, uncle and two cousins, and we were on our way to the beach. Brings back great memories for me.

Mine was the whole For U cd b/c my uncle had it and I took it b/c I fell in love with the man on the cd cover...I was only a baby...

I'm also construing 'from Prince' widely and so the first song I remember hearing at least was definitely 'Nothing compares 2 u' by Sinead O'Connor considering it was a huge number 1. I actually had my own 7" copy of it as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if I heard other Prince songs before as my Dad is a DJ and we always had music on.

As far as Prince personally, the first song I remember was 'Cream' because the video was always on MTV.
