When I named a song that I didn't like and people got on me, it made me feel really bad. People even said I wasn't a "true fan", and everyone KNOWS Chocolate1 is down!

Having said that... I always play "Forever in My Life" twice: Once to sing along to the verses, then again to the backing vocals... I love that song!

I feel sorry for you What a gorgeous song. I remember writing part of the lyrics to a girl I liked in High School...she thought I wrote it yada yada yada we dated until I graduated.

If you're lucky enough to catch Prince do this song acousticly, it's awsome also. Just him and his guitar and the audience singing along...Priceless!

This song is like the beautiful, still eye of the crazy, awesome hurricane that is Prince's career.

Honestly. I think if you took all of Prince's good songs and laid 'em side by side in order, then took a knife and split the line in half right down the middle, you'd be sinkin' that blade right into Forever In My Life.

NO you are not. Of all the tracks on SOTT this is the one I skip over with the quickness. I can't really explain why I don't like it, but twenty years have gone by and I just don't care for this song.

You may be a fan but are you actually sane? That is one of his better songs; tangy, soulful, reflectively simple and sweet. What else do you ask for in a song? Listen again, but with an wider, expanding mind. Take the flowers off of the grave and give them to a small child.

Rumor has it ... the song was written for Wendy's sister Susan(?). He gave her a ring around the time it was recorded but while he was on tour he called her up and said C ya.
