"Dark" or "So Dark" - which is better?

Dark from 1993's "Come" album?
So Dark from 1998's "Crystal Ball" album?

Same lyrics, different music.

I'm digging both right now, but probably if forced to choose it would be the "Come" version (a little less moody).

I guess I'd have to agree with the Come version, only because the Crystal ball version is a fraction slower...Sounds like different track overlay's or something...I don't know studio lingo, but the crystal version has more static.

Speaking of comparisons, I like the jazzier version of The most beautiful girl mixed in with 2morrow..versus the Radio style Gold, only for personal listening. My opinions could change if I was making a choice for the general public.

I love So Dark on CB. It has a funkier groove and beat, and Prince's vocals are stronger.

So Dark. I could listen to that all day. The original is cool too though.

Dark wins by a mile for me. I love the arrangement and it just hits certain emotional peaks that I feel So Dark doesn't.

I love "Dark" and it is far....far....FAR superior to "So Dark". "Dark" is a great sexy slow jam. "So Dark" is a shit hop sounding embarrasment.

Dark gets my vote

Well I've only heard "Dark" from the come album and I LOVE that version. Unfortunantly I don't have "Crystal Ball" so I didn't hear it!

I prefer Dark, it sounds more sober and sincere then the version on Crystal Ball.

The extra instrumentation on So Dark, 'glossyfies' the bleak lyrics about heartbreak on the original version.

Dark seems so dark, So Dark on the other hand reminds alot of the remix of I Hate U, a little more commercial & less gloomy

DARK definetley by a whole 100 miles .. it has a great vibe an a great live/loose feel .. SO DARK is just too comercial an poppy . an kinda tacky . So Dark is what was bad about some of EMANCIPATION disc one an some of RAVE .. the beats are too basic built in keyboard beats an the whole sound loses its edge .. DARK is very much a kick arse song an impressive .. SO DARK isnt either.. its more like a cheap kareoke backing track version of DARK .
