Superbowl Halftime Show Grabs Emmy Nods Prince's magical rain-soaked performance at the Superbowl was just nominated for 2 Primetime Emmy Awards, according to emmys.tv, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences website. The halftime show was nominated for Outstanding Special Class Program and Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video for a Miniseries, Movie or Special. Although Prince himself was not nominated, these nominations are a reminder of a spectacular show and a tip of the hat to the work that camera crews did in treacherous conditions. Prince is so willing 2 do the work, that all his accomplishments and blessings are coming in from all directions. All the crew members, staff, photographers, fans; etc that made the Superbowl halftime the best in its history is just another great moment in Prince History. Oh how I just wish that tha fuse hadn't blown at the end of Purple Rain. THe guitar was too quiet and too much Synth for some technical reason. Still a killer show I listen to at least once a week. |

I was just doing some digging in the Emmy archives on their website, and as far as I am able to tell, this is the FIRST TIME that a Superbowl Halftime Show has been nominated for an Emmy Award!

Wow that's incredible. Prince did the damn thing and thensome. Prince is just in a different zone from everyone else and it's great! Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.

No fuses blew. The guitar was just turned down in the mix in favour of the audience singing along. A mistake in my book though still a great halftime show. |

yeah...thinking back on it...there were some GREAT camera shots that added greatly to the entertainment value. Lots of long range pans to close-ups...great angles...plus all of that coupled with the impediment of the rain....BRAVO camera crew and technical direction people...U made da man look good when it easily could have been dissasterous. .. he started performing as church was letting out and my friend called to let me know he was coming on... i drove home sooooo fast! and it ended before i got there. Well, i have seen several times on the net though, and i LOVED IT!!!
