"Guitar" = Tamar ?

Does anyone else, besides me, think that "Guitar" might actually be about Tamar, and Prince's relatively brief association with her and their abrupt parting of ways?


I listened to this song several times today, and many of the lines struck me as possibly being applicable to that situation.


I don't have the lyrics at hand, though. So if there's someone who can post them, I'll highlight the ones that I think fit.

I usually don't. But I hadn't seen this involved, and I thought it was more interesting than most.


But then again, when 99% of your songs are about banging chicks, people are going to try to connect the dots biggrin

But...I never thought about this song possibly being about Tamar. But U never know. Then again, Prince Bangs a LOT of chicks...many that we don't even know about. So U can never be 2 sure when trying 2 connect a song with 1 of his Dames.

I'm pretty sure the opening lyrics to Guitar are:

"Getting dirty at the club again
Usually around your waist like a chain but then..."

That's what it sounds like to me. Those lyrics you posted defy logic, which may be typical for some Prince songs, but not for this one.
