I think both are too different to compare to each other. I like them both, and get something from each song. Now we are gonan have people on here talking about they liked the orginal version of The Dance better. I like them both.

I despise "The Dance" (both versions). They are both tired songs 2 me. Future Baby Mama is da' bomb....4 sure.

the dance on 3121 is just flat out laughable... cheep instrumentation, he totally watered this version down.. first version defeates it, and the original isn't even that good!! all that screaming and shit at the end? fucking horrid.. just crap.. give me a break.. he was reachin when he threw that on there

As much as I like "Future Baby Mama", I totally agree that "The Dance" is even better, classic classic Prince, just a fantastic song that takes you on an emotional ride. I think it's my favorite cut on 3121...GREAT SONG!

but, the dance is a work of art, it is one of those Price songs that leave other artist, not to mention musicians, waaaaay behind. the dance reminds me, in artistic scope, of international lover and oh shoot what was that one song with "U say, u'll call me but then you don't, I want 2 kiss u but then i won't.....these r the best days of my life" and others u know songs that are epic and transcend time, era, music norms yeah i agree with u and i agree those end lyrics, are amazinging raw i like the lyrics and the scream at the end of A Million Days too!!!

The Dance is a mess. the 3121 version anyway. he tried to sass up a bland song with some overwrought histrionics and a latin tinge, because he didn't know what else do with it.

The Dance is such a beautiful song! I love it. its a great song that I love listenin to- the lyrics and his voice are awesome! then again they always are.

i actually like the version of "The Dance" from The Chocolate Invasion more than the 3121 version. It knows it's a bland outtake tacked on as an incentive to buy the same stuff twice. it isn't trying to be something it's not, like the 3121 version, which has delusions of grandeur.

I like the lyrics of The Dance better, but the music of Future Baby Mama better

Not really a fan of this track(record for U oldies but goodies...lol). Not saying it's not good or anything...just not why I slide a Prince CD in my player. Not the kind of music I listen to...like That Tamar track off of 3121...I guess it's good, just not my kinda tune...I see it as adult contemporary r&b....bleh....
