Prince and Miles Davis

Hi, I just want to clear something up about Prince and Miles Davis. Did they, or did they not, ever record in the studio anything together?

I have a few live songs from New Years Eve from 1987, and Miles Davis seems to perform on a few songs - there is a 33 minutes jam of Beautiful Night, and Prince mentions him on the song after Davis does some solos. Does anyone know what other songs from this live recording does Miles Davis perform on? Cheers

According to various interviews with Alan and Eric Leeds, they never actually recorded anything together in the studio. Alan was keen on it happening, but Prince was just too intimidated by the thought of directing Miles in the studio.

On the so called 'Miles from the Park' New Year's Eve '87 performance, Miles only plays for a minute or 2 during that extended jam of Beautiful Night, that is the only time they played together. The rest of the songs it is Eric Leeds and Atlanta Bliss doing the horn section at that concert.

i think alan leeds gives himself a little too much credit for knowing every detail of prince's activities back in those days.

As far as I am aware, Alan Leeds simply states that he believes, to the best of his knowledge, Prince and Miles never recorded together. I would be interested if you could provide a couple of examples of where Alan Leeds has claimed to know every detail of Prince's activities during that period.
