Only last night I was reading an interview in Modern Drummer from 2004, where John Blackwell was saying how much he was influenced by Prince's drumming. The tracks where he most liked Prince's drumming were 'Musicology', 'A Million Days', 'Bambi', 'I'm Yours' and 'Controversy'. |

The level to which he can play drums is something that can be up for discussion. Personally, I saw him play Tamborine, on request, at a soundcheck in 2002. Looked like he could play drums to me. |
