Drugs?

I was checking out the JW thread here and I commented to my mom about it. I was saying how people make such a big deal out of it cuz he gave up his "dirty" work and cursing. She said how JW don't do drugs or drink, which I'm aware of. Then I said "I dont think he ever did drugs"... and she's like speaking to me in a tone that says "get a reality check".
My dad then commented, "He did A LOT"

I can't bring myself to believe a word of that cuz then that would make his music more of an illusion rather than something that came from his soul.

Does anyone know for sure if he really did do drugs in his younger days?

if you are competent and able to decipher, you should be able to figure it out rather than go by other's opinions

He takes B-12 shots before gigs. He may have done E. He ejoys wine. He probably tried other things, but who really knows?

Music seems to be his drug. Lately he's switched to a generic brand.

I used to think that there was no way that Prince ever did drugs. The problem was with the conviction of my thoughts, not whether Prince has actually done drugs or not.

In my opinion u do well listening 2 ur parents.... Look at his eyes paying very much attention (through the various pictures) and u will find THE TRUTH....

I have an answer 2 ur question but is betta u find it urself....

despite runours here and there, most bandmates have endorsed that Prince is clean, non-user and non-smoker. He is also almost a non-drinker and known (in the past)to have a glass or two of wine sometimes. Anti intoxication messages are also rampantly and sometimes subtly expressed in his songs.

ermm, has anyone seen the show, when he got up on stage at James Brown concert? with MJ?? Just my opinion, but i think he might quite possible be floating away on a kite at that moment in time, but again, u would need to watch it to make ur own opinion.

I believe that he did drugs in the past.
If you've ever seen the video clip where he performed: "Sometimes I feel like a motherless child" in front of a live audience. He looked stoned out of his skull and acted accordingly on that one.
It shouldn't surprise you at all, that he was doing drugs. Prince changes his mind about things every 5 minutes. Whatever he believes in at the moment is the truth for him.

Yeah, the E thing was true. I think he was on E for 'Lovesexy' as well. That album screams of MDMA.

He's probably had the odd spliff here or there.

I honestly don't think he ever did any drugs but don't know for sure!

regarding the comment above that 'he is from the streets',
I don't think he is from those kind of 'streets' which hip hop artists refer to today. He's from a broken home but still from a reasonably well educated and OK family, his mother was a Masters Degree holder and the pictures of his house from the inside also show that they were not quite living in penury. No bandmate has ever come on record that he used drugs, in fact, people have been on record saying that he used to despise drugs and users. I even remember reading somewhere that he used to get irritated even if people smoked around him, maybe the one off E experience rumour had some truth in it but besides that I don't think he has been into intoxicants of any kind ever.

I think it's pretty much a fact that Prince drinks occasionally (as he mentioned it in songs...)

I think it's, also, true that he's at least tried "E" once because there have been enough people come forward and mention that event.

I don't think he was ever a heavy user of anything other than vajayjay.
