I Am Completely P*****D Off!

About a week or so before the demise of the NPGMusicClub I paid out good money for the priviledge of a promise of access to presale tickets. The club folds, the tickets sell out in minutes and now I am forced to pay touts prices on Ebay for crap seats.. I am not at all happy.

A lot of the touts on eBay are selling poor tickets for high prices.
There are quite a few ticket broker websites offering better tickets at the same eBay prices.

Shop around before you end up in block 420 when you could get lower tier seating for the same price!

Dude, there are others in the same boat. I think you could still get some tickets over at ticketmaster... maybe

Are they really all sold out? If so this is truely amazing because I didn't think that any show would sell out.

Obviously too dumb to get the original point. I'm not bitching about price, I'm bitching about accessibility and fans being the losers.

S**t happens! No one could have expected that NPGMC would tank...honey, we are all in the same boat. If Prince decides to do a tour here in the US, we will have the same problem and will be scrambling for tickets. Shoot, I'm just happy he is touring again... hug

What world is it that £31.21 = $25? Not this I think.

1) I paid $100 for my membership to NPGMC

2) When I did get Musicology Tour tickets thru NPGMC, the tickets were far worse than I could've bought on my own thanks to a NPGMC mixup (Detroit).

3) I bought Slaughterhouse, The Chocolate Invasion, and Magnificent from the Musicology Store, which don't play now without linking to NPGMC for permission

So I am literally out hundreds of dollars - so you should consider yourself LUCKY to have only lost $25.

Well thats fair enough, I appreciate lots of people have lost far more than I have and am happy to admit that on the scale of things mine seems like a minor gripe. However, there's still a few things I'd like to address. Firstly I think it's really wrong of them to have accepted membership fees just a few days before the site is pulled. They knew what was coming and took the cash anyway. I'm sure it wasnt just me, they must have done it to many who didn't have time to get ANY use out of the site before closing. One thing I'd like to ask is when you downloaded all of the music was it specified that you were purchasing it or renting it. Surely if you thought you were purchasing it there must be thousands of people with legitimate rights to complain. If nothing else it makes me think twice. Next time you think you're supporting an artist by purchasing memberships, music, etc just think on. I'm not advising people to download illegally from the net but surely things have to work both ways.

I agree with you that they should not have accepted memberships just a few days before the site was pulled.

When we downloaded the music, it was for purchase - not subscription. The hangup is DRM (Digital Rights Management). That's why they don't work, because there is no way to confirm the licenses without a host website. Many people burned their content to CD - as music - and they are covered.

iTunes will be doing away with DRM with a lot of their music starting later this month - what that means for the consumer is that you can do whatever you want with the songs you buy (same rights you have when you buy a CD from a store).

What disappoints me the most about Prince's online presence is that it was originally billed as "an Xperiment in Truth" - and everything dishonest, shady, or unprofessional was done from his side of the deal.

Hi there, i saw ur post and thought i'd reply. I bought pre sale tix for 1st, 11th and 14th. But also VIP tickets for the 3rd.

I might want to sell a pair (no promises) but if i do, i dont want to put them on ebay. and would only want face value, plus the booking fee of course. If ur interested org me and if i do decide i'll bear u in mind. Hope thats a silver lining.

I understand ur frustration though. Ebay should BAN ticket sales for concerts. pure and simple. If fans cant go, they should return the tickets or sell them to other fans for cost price. I mean a concert for artist X should be full of fans of artist X....fans should help other fans out!

Hell, you're not alone. I understand your frustration completely.

BUT

Prince really is a dick, and the sooner we all get used to that fact the more settled we'll all be. thumbs up!
