Fighting the Temptation of [fill in album name]

Do you ever get the feeling when you play a certain album, you won't be to stop yourself from playing it over and over again?

When I play it, I'm "Fighting the Temptation of [The Gold Experience]".

It just sticks with me and difficult to resist playing more than once a week when I play it once.

Its more specific songs like The Beautiful Ones or a live performance of Purple Rain but yes, the album I always seem to end up listening to the most is Purple Rain.

nod Good point.

Darling Nikki can get me pretty high. I just listened to it... every single time it drives me insane.
I mean, the first time I heard it, I was ready to hold onto my seat cuz I've heard so much about how nasty it is and such. Actually that was during the first time I saw the movie, haha... that was the very first time I saw Prince's "sexy" side... it was one of those sides to him that I just grew used to. Now I listen to it and get excited and always get a good laugh cuz I can only imagine his antics in the movie and then him pacing in his dressing room after it ends.

One day, The Beautiful Ones kept playing in my head and I ended up playing it 3-4 in a 24-hour period. The same with Computer Blue... I was so addicted to the "Father's Song" portion cuz I felt it told its own story seperate from the whole.

haha...

yeah most of the time, I do follow his lead. I let w/e songs of his that come into my head dictate the album I picked up for the day. This is 90% of the time.

Sometimes it can be a little much... so I can be choosy about certain albums. I use TGE sparingly only because once I start, it's difficult to stop... and it can be a little distracting. Thru that album, Prince likes to give my soul a make-over... I enjoy that very much, but there's a time and place.

I only brought this up since my work in the last 1.5 weeks of the semester are crucial to my grades and I can't afford to let Prince distract me (sorry Prince) if I want to shoot for mostly A's.

Chocolate Invasion this last 2 weeks. I'd always dismissed this album in my

mind as just something I bought on his site and listened to once, without

being "Tempted" to give it another spin. However, I took a walk with it on my

ipod 2 weeks ago to see if it would grab me at all and i've hardly stopped

listening since.

Just goes to show, 23 years after buying my first Prince album i'm still

discovering my own collection,lol.

I had a dream of Prince singing "eye hate U" and now, I have Shh in my head.

Almost like he's testing me.
I know that I can't listen to TGE until next week after I don't have school to worry about. Each day, the temptation gets stronger. TMBGITW comes into my head almost on a daily basis and I was singing "We March" on my way out the door this morning.

And actually, I might wait until all of my grades come in. Thanx to Prince, the idea of a repeat of straight A's is in the air and possible, so I can't really afford to slip up. Besides, what better way to celebrate than to play my favorite album after such a long time?
Or maybe I'll wait until I get "Come". That'll be reason enough to put it up again.
I've kept the song "Gold" at bay (until now cuz I thought about it and its swimming in my head...)... sigh its in fragments, though, so its not too bad.

I feel like saying, "Hey Prince, whatever happened to the saying 'lead us not into temptation'? Stop tempting me, man!"

Yeah it's like "oh you mocked me for liking him but now he's dead it's cool to play him again?" And then they look at you funny when you don't play him. -Timmy on after 6-25 fans

I don't know if Prince can comprehend how addictive his music is to his faithful listeners & followers.
Does he honestly have any idea? I don't think he does.

I've got TMBGITW playing in my head randomnly and in fragments (as it should be).

I guess maybe I'm kinda bored. I can't get myself to pick up Musicology OR 3121... and I pretty much have "The Very Best of..." in my CD player at random... I'm running out of songs to play cuz I've been doing this since Tuesday, I think.

Emancipation Disc II (it's all just so smooth and chilled, yet highly addictive to listen to. Particularly Sex in the Summer and Joint 2 Joint.)

1999 - Every song (save for "Free" which is the only weak link) is subject to constant replay. Lady Cab Driver sticks in my head for days. cool

It's no fight or temptation...

If I pick up a Prince cd and put it in the cd player in my car it's gonna be in residence there for quite awhile.
