Whenever I hear the backwards part at the end of "Darling Nikki" I start talking in tounges. It's always "the devil this, the devil that...", you know?

Sometimes It Snows In April reeks of Joni Mitchell's early work...

...and for some reason, I Love U In Me makes me think of Rick Springfield. I think it's the way he sings one of the lines.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he copied, but something's making me want to get up and dance like Kevin Bacon.

Haha I was only joking, I doubt Prince would copy from a song like that, but you never know!!

I heard somewhere that Prince was annoyed he wasn't invited to participate in the Freddy tribute, so that song was his own Princely sendoff for the man. No idea if there's truth in that or not, though.

Some of my picks:

The Cross - 'Heroin' by the Velvet Underground

The Same December - Something by the Allman Brothers

DMSR / Paisley Park / Pop life / Animal Kingdom - John Lennon vocals

Dinner with Dolores - REM (only the guitar arpeggio's)

Three Chains of Gold - Queens Bohemian Rapsody (obvious)

Mia Bocca by Jill Jones - Igor Strawinsky (the arrangement by Clare Fisher)

Under the Cherry Moon - a Brecht / Weill composition
