Is Prince crazy? Seriously

Some of the things I've heard him do, even some of the things he's said he does make me wonder if he's a bit, well, nuts. Do you think he might be a bit off, crazy, or whatever you want to call it?

i'm crazy. Am I allowed to comment?

Are you confusing "crazy" with someone who generally acts a total cunt?

Prince is a musical god, but on a personal level, he seems like a complete prick.

Personally I find insanity and genius to be easily mistaken for one another; sometimes one in the same.

Half the reason I love Prince is because of his unique eccentricities and artistic genius; and the willingness to go out there and do things no one else would.

The way this thread title was worded make me laugh.

Prince isn't crazy, but to describe him in polite terms I think many people would call him eccentric.

ARTIST = CRAZY

GENIUS IS THE ULTIMATE "ART OF MADNESS"

I think he probably should have taken some time off after PR and gone to college.

It seems like he could have evolved more intellectually.

His judgement and reasoning is really off sometimes -- judging by statements and logic in some of his rants.


Also, I've been surprised over the years to see how easily influenced he is. I mean he is really easily influenced.

That disturbs me.

He's genius.....he's excentric, which does 'not' add up to crazy.....

In his own little way, I'm sure, but I don't think he's super crazy/insane, however you put it.

He's eccentric and a genius. Crazy doesn't come to mind when I think of him at all.

Yeah, but I think they are a bit alike, I thought that when I heard both of them used aluminum foil to cover their windows, maybe she got that from him? I mean, I know he can buy curtains now but I had never heard of that before.

I don't think he's easily influenced by everything though. Only the things he wants to be. I do think it's good he's managed to stay in the business and not use hard drugs or be addicted to pills or anything, as far as we know.

So...if someone told him to go fuck himself...there's a reasonable possibility he could actually accomplish it?

When he walks into a barber shop and shaves his head completely bald or goes on national TV and talks about sleeping with children, then we'll talk.
On the other hand, when you think of all the people who have written him off or said his musical career would be over after leaving Warner Bros., crazy like a fox certainly comes to mind when discussing Prince.

For some reason, the only thing that popped into my head when I read the title was, "What's normal?" Some of the things that Prince does don't seem anymore strange or crazy than what other celebrities and some non-celebrities do on a daily basis. My sister used to change clothes three times in one day and I thought she was a total wackjob, but I just recently met two people who do that. I still think it's strange. People think I'm odd because I don't like getting massages and being hugged. And, I absolutely HATE, HATE when people try to tickle me. I've had to warn people before that if they ever tried to tickle me, they would get punched. I HATE IT!! Prince isn't crazy. He's just a little eccentric at times, but who isn't at some point in time?

Define 'normal' or 'sane'.

Define 'crazy'.

Eccentric is a better word. Actually when you consider the actions of some celebrities, you wouldn't call Prince crazy. Besides, if he was too normal he wouldn't be interesting. Look at Britney Spears. Doesn't she do all that 'crazy' stuff to get noticed? I mean, if she stayed married and stayed home with the kids and did the laundry, noone would care.
