OOOOH, i hate 'free'! i can't help it, it's like fingernails on a chalkboard!

'slow love' i can deal with cuz i sorta like the horns, but i don't like the melody much at all and i don't think it flows with the rest of SOTT very well.

The most yucky, blehh, blandish, boring song ever released by Prince IMO is The Greatest Romance Ever Told, totally generic, uninspired plastic R&B.

Incense and Candles and Beautifull, Love Blessed are great songs compared to this one, and i mean that sarcastic of course.

Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother/Wife and Let's Have a Baby are absolutely vile.

I basically like everything that's basically funk, rock, or slow jams. The kind of stuff that Prince started out doing and was known for. What I don't like is all the experimental and artsy/fartsy shit like.....

Anything classical sounding with orchestras and shit.
Anything accoustical and folk sounding.

In other words, I don't like anything that takes Prince further away from what he originally started out as....a funk/rock act.

Also, anything shit hop sounding. If he's going to try to appeal to the latest crowd, he should have been doing that in the late 1980s when the music as a whole was still halfway decent. Don't wait till mainstream music turns to bullshit and then try to appeal to it.

Of the era of albums that I think are his best (Dirty Mind thru Sign O'The Times) there aren't any songs of his that I truly dislike. A few that I could do without: "Ronnie Talk To Russia", "Slow Love" (a little Vegas-y on the horns), and "Gotta Broken Heart Again".

After SOTT, there were more songs that I disliked rather than liked on each record. In fact,after SOTT there were only a single handful of songs from the Batman soundtrack thru Graffitti Bridge that I thought were on the par with his classic 1980-87 output - with "Anna Stesia" being the best of the lot. I include "Joy In Repitition" from Graf Brdg but its a little unfair b/c I know it was written and recorded during the 80-87 period.
