Another Lonely Christmas Appreciation Thread

I saw a ridiculous signature around here referencing this song and I just want to show some love for one of my favorite Christmas songs!

It may not be in the tradition of standard jolly ol' Christmas Carols but to me that's what makes it so cool! I listen to it every Christmas!

DEFINATELY one of my all time favorite Prince songs. Beautiful song from one of his best periods. This song, like all of his 1999 album, showcases his great musicianship. This, like the instrumental version of "God", is ALL Prince on everything. Great drumming. I always felt that this song was the instrumental version of "God" but with lyrics. Musically, and arrangement wise, and style wise, the two are similar. His little segues in both songs are somewhat jazzy in style. And in both songs, he showcases great guitar playing, with his trademark runs that he favored during 82-85. The ending is off the hook as well.

I have to pull that out tonight and add it to my Alexander O'Neal Christmas CD.
I always liked that song.

Years ago, I saw a bootleg on cd that had like 7 diffrent versions (of Prince and Revolution working out the song). I could shoot myself for not buying it.

Anyway, great lyric lines.
