I'm gonna go with pretty much anything from:

Chaos & Disorder
For You
N.E.W.S.
and the internet only releases...
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

love Yes this song is so amazing. I love alot of his early, early work because he comes across so tender and innocent..yet not razz . It just really is pure. Pure sweetness.

But I don't hear alot of talk about "Elephants and Flowers" here. One of my favorites!!! This song really has an uplifting, exciting feeling to it. I love the line "I think I'm gonna fall in love tonight" Like it just makes me think of waking up...everything seems right that day and you just have this feeling in your gut like something really awesome is gonna happen to you today or you'll meet someone really special or inspiring. This song is just... razz ...it just gives me such a happy feeling and it makes me wanna just have an adventure! biggrin

I've mentioned this cut quite often smile
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Just As Long As We're Together is an underrated one IMO. One of the best cuts from "For You".

And considering it's one of my favorite tracks, "Space" isn't mentioned enough.

Pretty much all of "Prince." Why this album doesn't get more praised, I'll never understand. I guess it got forever swept away by the Dirty Mind hype and all the brilliance that followed.

I gotta go with New Power Generation considering

1) It's a great song, and
2) He's spent most of the last 20 years beating us over the head with the concept.

There are some gems that were Internet-only releases. It is funny that you mentioned N.E.W.S. I'd heard so much negative talk about it, that I didn't give it a chance. What a mistake on my part. I heard West on the all Prince AOL station and was blown away. I ordered the CD that minute and have been listening to it regularly in my car.

Some of the Internet stuff is SEVERELY underrated. There is great music on The Chocolate Invasion and The Slaughterhouse.

Some of my overlooked Internet favs:

West
Pearls B4 the Swine
Here on Earth
Underneath the Cream
Supercute
Silicon
Props n Pounds
High
Golden Parachute
Peace
Gamillah
Xcogitate

I LOVE this song. Whenever I mention it, even some Prince fans ask me which album it is on. I also enjoy My Love is Forever.

But as Chris Rock once said...Prince has more records than the U.S. Census, so unfortunately some great stuff gets overlooked and forgotten. sad

I have two cars and the New Power Generation EP is in the other one. I've been listening to it for two weeks..."Lay down your funky weapon..."

That really is a great song. Sometimes I think people get so caught up with wanting Prince to reinvent the wheel that they can't appreciate good, fun, funky songs.

3121 anyone? That album had some great, fun songs - nothing groundbreaking, just good music - anything wrong with that?

I agree...I actually really like N.E.W.S., The Slaughterhouse, and Xpectation. I think people just forget about the internet releases (or maybe they haven't heard them). If I remember correctly, N.E.W.S even won a Grammy--or was nominated for one.

Hello

OMG YES!! That bass at the beginning is funky as SHIT!! btw..is that song about him not being apart of Live Aid? I gather from the lyrics "I tried to tell them that I didn't want to sing, but I'd gladly write a song instead" then talks about starving children here at home. Am I right?

Oh, and I haven't seen anything on here about
It's A Wonderful Day and In A Large Room With No Light.
