Did Prince ever save your life?

I know it sounds corny but there was a time in my life that I really thought that. Just wondering if anyone had the same thoughts before.

No, but he's taken a couple years off it.

Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

I want to know who's going to give my brother a sandwhich before he starves to death. Who's going to save Prince's life?

c'mon people, at least learn how to say what you mean if you are going to post. "did Prince ever save your life" means something specific, that being did Prince himself actually ever partake in the act of saving your life. that is not the same as being inspired or moved by Princes actions or music to the point that it influenced your life. that is an act that you did, not Prince. unless Prince saved you from drowning, gave you cpr when you were choking on is finish, or any other act of physically saving your life himself, thus an act that he did, not you, this thread is mis-worded and silly.
this message brought to you by logic.

I find the whole thread idea stupid. Would a "Did Prince ever make you want to kill yourself" Thread wouldn't be alowed.

falloff

but for some reasons the power that be, and prince, would like to think he's had some part in stablizing an unstable soul, when he himself is one unstable soul.

I wouldn't say "save" it but in 2004 I needed some peace and I would say that E.badu and Prince provided some peace and an escape from the things I was going through. I actually went to see E.Badu the night before my moms funeral and I NEEDED that. I was able to see Prince 3 times on the Musicology tour so he did provide an escape.

I know exactly what you're talking about.... In 1984 I was 16yrs, old my parent's were contemplating divorce, my brother and his family just moved thousands of miles away and I found out my best friend talked about me behind my back and started spreading rumors about me. I was so depressed that I contemplated suicide and even had a bag full of various pills to do the job. One day I was in the supermarket with my mom and wandered over to the record section and picked up the Purple Rain album. At that time the only song released was "When Doves Cry" so I bought it based on that one song, something I’ve never done and still don’t to this day, but a little voice inside me said to not leave that store without that album. When I came home to listen to it, it felt as if a giant weight was being lifted off of me. I played it over and over again and soon after became enthralled with Prince and his music. Every aspect of my life revolved around him. His lyrics showed me that there were people worse off than me and I would see a better life and happier times were ahead of me.
It may seem silly but yes, I believe and will always believe that 21 years ago, God sent Prince into my life to save me from self-destruction.

His music has gotten me through some very rough times in my life.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I posted something like this when I was on as daPope. As a 17 year old in the Army in 1989, I must have sang 'Free' to myself a scrillion times. It kept me sane, it kept me together. Saved my life, eh, helped me out, yup.

Some may think it is a silly question, or that only crazy people have an answer to it. But yeah....I do think he saved my life. No, of course not in the literal sense, but I didn't take that to be the question.

There was a time in my life where all I seemed to have was his music...and it touched me profoundly. Gave me something to look forward to when it really felt like my life was over...and gave me reasons to hang on. When I got through that particularly dark period, I was so grateful....so moved by the power of music...His music.

And now, life is joyous. And he still gives me things to look forward to.
Still moves me.

Yes. Back in 1987 at 17 a except for sign o the times, Jill jones, and sheila e. A year I don't want to remember I tried to commit suicide. I did'nt succeed, and wanted to try again. But i heard Prince was coming out with a new album"the Black Album", I told myself I had to wait to hear it. After that I decided if I die I would'nt be able to hear his music anymore . Now that's hell to me. So that's how he saved my life.

actually yes.

July 1, 2005. Tenjin, Japan. I was in a cab on a rainy night going to the club. I was listening to Emancipation, then I decided to listen to prince. I turned to reach in my pocket and change songs on my MP3 player when..

BAM! We get hit. The sports car hits about 1 foot behind where I was sitting. If I didn't turn that shard of glass would have caught me in the head
