Tamar rocked tha house! She is also very nice...when Prince was in Mpls in feb, tamar callled me on stage, and noticed me. She even helped me up on the stage. This is the best protege prince has had in years.....alot better than apollonia, shiela, vanity, and carmen electra....rosie gaines was another good one, but lacked presence. I liked her outfit...maybe if she was light skinned/white, some folks would like her...thats my opinnion!

naw.. I don't think so. It doesn't matter what shade her skin is really. She is just a big girl that was wearin' something that wasn't flattering.

and, also, everyone who comes and watches wants to see Prince, damn it,
not these other girls he's got next to him, as much as we might like them or not. We want to see the man. It's easy to criticize the protege du jour.

1) How cool is it that the whole front line up on that stage are women, besides him?! Prince plus 5 women! And then Maceo, who gets shoved to the side. Nobody else does that! I think most celebrity men are afraid of women, and women with talent.

2) Wasn't there some question people could ask him? There was something going on the ABC website about submitting a question and they would ask him. Was there supposed to be some little interview with him there on GMA, and he declined?

biggrin Aw, I love Prince. This was the first time I ever saw him live! so, I liked his look. It wasn't AMAZING, but it's a step up from the pimp suits and puffy hair. Tamar is a good looking girl. I didn't like her outfit, but it wasn't quite as hidious in person. I'm still iffy on the twins. They're kinda hot, and okay dancers... but they shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a microphone.
I LOVED The Boat, liked Red Haired step child (although the soud there sucked, & it was a little hard to hear) and LOVED Let's Go Crazy, although I wish it longer. I wish the whole thing was longer. confused but... I saw Sheila (who looked amazing), and Maceo, and PRINCE. So I'm happy.

very, very happy!

Don´t know why so many people hate Tamar...from what I´ve seen or heard up to now I really like her. She´s got a nice voice and looks fantastic. OK, the outfit is not the best choice but I like her and the Twins....this whole vibe reminds me a bit of the SOTT/Lovesexy era with Cat, Boni (R.I.P) and Sheila, you know, lots of females around Prince....much nicer than seeing him surrounded with fellas all the time. Seems to do him good. Let a brother have some fun.

Tamar is hot. And I like Beautiful , Loved and Blessed.....there, I´ve said it.

Kinda agree with this. The only thing I saw wrong with the outfit is that the jacket either needed to be longer or shorter so her mic didn't hike it up in the back. Other than that it looked like an outfit nothing more nothing less. I really don't want this young lady turned into the typical r&b/pop hoochie mama with her ass cheeks flying in the wind every time we see her.

Watching it now...

DAMMIT - had he had it ALL going back a little (instead of that piece hanging out on the side) it would look so much better. Me no likey the hair, I think it looking SO good @ the Webby's was a fluke lol

But I LOVE the suit/colors/shoes - the piping on the suit AND on the guitar!! He's killin' me falloff

They failed to turn up Maceo's mic until his solo was damn near over whofarted

Tamar's outfit (earrings & white shoes included) - not flattering at all, but she's still cute as a bag of buttons. I give her credit for dancing in all that shit without getting a concussion...

Sheila looks AMAZING, nobody givin' Sheila any love hmm

Tamar's performance - I wonder if she likes having these no singing heffas on backup? hmmm

WHY are they choosing to sing the chorus off beat (missing a beat)? The cadence of the original sounds better...

WTF is happening @ the end of Let's Go Crazy?? He wanted to keep going & the drummer (I'm guessing) didn't follow his lead? Will we ever see that drummer again?? lol lol boxed

He cut the hosts off & just launched into another song falloff GAWD these hosts are the dryest, corniest mf's on the planet geek

All in all, a good day for Lil' Man cool And whatever you did w/ your 'do @ the Webby's DO IT AGAIN pray

lol

She should have worn that dress instead of the biker shorts. At least she would have been semi-coordinated with P's outfit. BTW, I like the dress.

Prince, like fine wine, just gets better with age. Eat your heart out MJ. You couldn't pull off that kind of sexy with with a hundred more bleachings and trips under the knife. lol
And what's with all the Tamar hating. She's a beautiful, healthy looking black woman. I wont defend all her outfit choices, but she's certainly a step up from what BET churns out 24/7. Sad that some still view the dark-skinned sisters in a negative light. At least let her get a couple of albums out before you rip her to shreds.
Anyway, back to the main event. Prince, you've made my day yet again. love

No im not doggin her, and her biker shorts...lol, i love the few songs, that shes on [on the album]

I think the crowd was quieter for Tamar b/c:
1. a lot of them don't know Redheaded Stepchild
2. a lot of them weren't Prince fans but rather ABC family/staff and barely showed love to P, let alone an "unknown"
3. her mic seemed kinda low and it was hard to hear her.

twocents

I love Redheaded Stepchild. It kicked ass when I heard them do it at Nokia. Does anyone know if it's a cover or a Prince original?

the Twins.. man, the Twins. Someone please tell them to stop flinging their hair around. They are annoying as hell to anyone trying to zero in on the Talent - Prince, Tamar, and Sheila E who looked and played SMOKIN.

Okay?! I've been saying ditch the Twinz since January. I do not understand how anyone can think they are talented when it comes to singing. He really needs to cut them loose.

PS. Tamar needs to hire a new stylist because that outfit was wack and not flattering at all. disbelief

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

The concert was good, although the camera work by abc was awful. Also, the show's hosts were pitiful.

The Boat translated into a great live song, as I thought it would. Red Haired step child was good, although Tamar should stick to wearing dresses. Lets go Crazy had brilliant guitar work. Great band, great appearance. I think the Boat should be released as a single asap.

I enjoyed the show but agree with you about the camera work. In the beginning they focused on the audience, and missed important solos. The completely screwed up when Prince screamed Sheila! and it was time for her solo. mad

1. You can’t beat a free concert to see Prince!!!!!
2. Some of the Purple Hippies who camped out left a mess. Hopefully they cleaned that up.
3. Sun was really bad in some spots.
4. The Audio/Mic levels were poor, I’m not sure if that’s standard for these Good Morning America shows.
5. Prince looked great.
6. They did Get on the Boat, my favorite song from 3121. Kinda disappointing cause they did a jam session of almost the entire song before they came on.
7. Sheila E
8. I thought Tamar was a slim girl, She got some junk, if that's her style...so be it... she did a good job, but the energy was lacking during her set, P was trying to raise the energy. She can sing.
9. They need to setup more speakers in the park. New Yorkers endure blaring car stereos daily. They can endure Prince for 20 minutes on their way to work.
10. Prince did his thing like a Pro, per usual.

I was going absolutely insane while watching it. Did they pull camera men straight out of school???? How could you NOT zoom in on the solos?!?!?! I wanted to see Sheila smash those timbales and only caught the ends of her solos. confused

The twins were pretty obnoxious. Looked like they were crowding Sheila's space. wink

Prince killed it on the guitar solos! He tore it up! I was very happy.....it was a nice way to start off my wedding anniversary this morning. biggrin

Notice the chipping of the paint off of the guitar in the pic?..that tells me something...like he likes his guitars, and while he can buy a new one every day, he likes to hang onto the things that he likes..that if the guitar plays well for him, he isn't going to trash it, just cause he can afford another one
