What's Prince's most George Clinton-like moment?

Thanks to You Tube,I've been on my P-Funk mode all week.Jams like La,La,La,He,He,Hee, Superfunkicalifragisexi,Bob George, Erotic City,Scarlet Pussy and a host of others clearly were inspired by George but what do you consider to be the most influenced moment of them all?

I need to hear Paradisgm. I've heard of it but don't know what it sounds like. I heard it's pretty funky though.

It simply has to be Erotic City. Prince went home and recorded that after seeing George in concert - and later George covered it.

"Billy Jack Bitch" is very P-Funk-like, if not his most P-Funkish moment.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Just in case you don't know, that song featuring George is on the One Nite Alone Love aftershow CD. (also there is bootleg footage of George performing that floating around - love how he just squats down and stares at the audience!)

How about Prince's incredible 1980s outtake cover version of Fuzzy Haskins/Parlet's Cookie Jar. That mutha is too fonkee! I always wished he had released that jam. Who else is hip to this?

Peace,
Scott

"props and pounds" has a very p-funk homage feel to it. and there's a synth-string passage in it that is an all-out homage to "funkentelechy".

yes, "freaks on this side" always reminded me of p-funk, though i don't really care for the song.

from the classic influenced-by-rather-than-paying-homage-to 80s era:

"scarlet pussy" for sure and certain! really nice mixture of the p-funk sound and prince's own amazingly cocksure control.

interesting thing about "scarlet pussy" - it contains one of the longest purely instrumental passages in a vocal prince song. i noticed this the other day - the instrumental passage is so beautifully sustained and for once, prince doesn't yelp and whoop all over it. not that i mind prince yelping and whooping - but it works very well in this song with him just continuing the flow of the groove without adding any vocal colour at all.
