A Little Worried about Fury

I actually love this song, but I am wondering if releasing this will be too little too late. I learned that Janet is about to drop a single on May 8. Ofcourse Janet fans are in a frenzy all over the world, especially after the Damito Jo disaster. Well, being the 20th anniversay of Control, and most definately this single is going to shoot to the top, do you think that when Fury hits on the May 22, nobody is going to care, because everyone will be Janet crazed???? Just wondering if releasing the first two songs was a mistake. Please no hate messages on Prince. Just wanted to know what everyone thought.

what planet are you on?!? Prince fans are completely obsessed with the charts, and have a vast knowledge of the charts by their critique of the music as all trash, meaning they have to have listened to the songs to come to that conclusion.

so if janet gets to #1 with her new single and prince gets to #2 with "fury". wouldn't that make it his biggest hit in years?

For people who love music it is not about the charts, it is about a good new song to listen to. People who listen to Prince understand music and instrument playing in the respect that they notice that Prince understands various instruments and plays them all very well. Maybe that is why Prince’s fans are so “sophisticated”.

The ladies loved “Control” because it was a mental power trip for women to sing the songs from that album. Whether they have control over their lives or not while that song is playing they have all the control in the world. I don’t know what direction this new album is taking, but if it is a mature one she may have quite a few sales overall with a 20 year reunion mentioned. Especially when MJB’s album was a big disappointment, there are no real good female artists out currently, and most females who are out now are singing some real tacky material. If the music is good I will be buying Janet’s single in anticipation of her new album, and maybe even the “Control” album to kick back some old times.

Everyone has already heard “Fury”, and it was the song that kicked off the spring. The tease for Fury was SNL. The single should have been dropped a little while after that, and then the album.

People who buy singles buy them because they are obsessed with a song and can’t wait for the album to come out, or they are purchasing it from a collectors stand point. So it is a matter of do you want to cater to one purchasing group who has extra money for their Prince collection, or both purchasing groups who at the right time could have bought the single.

Prince has so many songs, what is the big deal about one single anyway? Besides, I am sure there are plenty of Prince collector’s out there who will be buying the “Fury” single.

unfortunately, it's seems today like if the song has no video or the video isn't eyeball-grabbing (booties shaking and jail scenarios) nobody wants to see it.
maybe he should get Kanye to direct it. ha.

It would be nice to see Prince get a top ten out of it. But I really don't think that will happen since most folks forgot by now that he even had an album out.
oh well, we like it, right?
