Week 5 Sales for 3121: Prince hanging on 3121 sales fall 29% but albumlooks to move up a few spots on the charts due to what looks like a weaker selling week. 22,000 more copies bought this past week puts 3121 at number 29 on Hitsdailydouble, up from 37 last week.

Circuit City had 3121 for $8.99 this week and some other stores discounted it heavily so if the sale is over and Prince doesn't do something I fully expect it to fall off the list next week. | |

Between 350 K and 400 K. First week was 183 K, second week was 75K and this week is 22K but don't remember week 3 and 4. Not gold yet but could be there in a few weeks if it holds steady. Sarcasm is a lost art. | |

I'm glad it's still hanging on but Prince has got to do something real quick. Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.

I know a lot of people like to just say that sales don't matter, but it's like, Prince intended for 3121 to be commercially accessible, so do some work to keep it out there! The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

You have to admit for no promo in over 3-4 weeks and it is still in the top 50 and moving up from 37 to 29.....not bad. I remember P saying that "Emancipation was going to go up and down the charts for a few years because it was a 2-3 year project." We saw what happened there...with all the promo. Rave???? P needs to do something to keep it going....back to # 1

Most just said that it's way better than Musicology, and one of his best albums in a few years. I rated it ****/***** when it came out, and my rating now hovers around that and *** 1/2.
