All of you listening early are wrecking it for yourselves.... Hmmm, I was tempted to listen to "3121" early, but I thought again. You tell me what's better:

we're hearing it early. BFD. So the newness/anticipation/surprise will be the same when you get it on 3/21? I doubt it. You never get another 1st time--I just maximize mine to the fullest. "3121" crouched in front of my computer doesn't seem like the way to do it. But, to each their own..... "I'VE GOT A MIND FULL OF GOOD INTENTIONS

It makes me sad, because I know that there will not be a new album in another three years..lol

sure. just because i've heard it beforehand doesn't mean that i'll be no less happy/surprised once it comes out. You never get another 1st time[...]
of course you do. | |

So you'll be caught off guard by a new song or not no what the next song will sound like even though you have already listend to it? Sounds fun, can I have some? make yer own. it works fine for me. You never get another 1st time
"of course you do." Unless it's your 2nd time hearing it[...] and that's where those of you who haven't heard it yet come in. see what i'm saying?

1. Listening to a crappy MP3 version of the album that doesn't sound right no matter how good your computer speakers are... or 2. Runnin' the record store after school/work, opening a factory fresh, brand new cd (complete with artwork that you can still smell the ink on), poppin' that new CD into car stereo system and lettin' it spin around on your way home. See, I think a lot of y'all might be the type that found the presents in mom's closet instead of waiting for Santa to come and leave you a note and a half eaten cookie. You spoil it for yourselves. This is a new world. CDs and albums are irrelevant because of the internet. Soon, brick and mortar stores will cease to exist once internet speeds increase. Plus, there's no guarantee i'll be alive on March 21, therefore I will experience things when they're available. Simple as that, really. [Edited 3/7/06 18:29pm] "You don't exist again. well if you convery it to a wav or play it with a good mp3 player it still sounds better than 1999... 2. or DLing it from a legal site. personaly IF i were to get it early.. i would buy it... i would be oblgated to... poor example because if you got it you got it... the sound quality of an MP3 is good... must be half deaf because i can really not tell the diffrence??? not that i have it or anything .... but i have to say... i think my black album was better as a bootleg then when it was officialy released.... for some reason when i poped that official cd into my player... i was let down. so you might have a point????

Tell me this- What's your favorite picture of Prince in the "3121" CD booklet? How about who Prince thanks in the linear notes? Irrelevance is releative-hope you live through 3/21 so you cn give me you full opinion on the album. But really that all takes a backseat to the music. That's what we buy a CD for, after all. Sure, I will look forward to the release so that I can see the booklet. It'll be nice in itself just for that, but my 'first time' experience has already happened, much as it would have if I'd waited.

I got to hear the new album while discussing it with my fellow Prince fans. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

No I am not trying to dog you at all. Sorry if it seemed so. Just pokin' a little fun at ya and the "instant gratification" that people seem to need these days. Honestly, I hope you are enjoying the album and that we can talk about it in two weeks. No hard feelings were meant. [Edited 3/7/06 19:01pm] "I'VE GOT A MIND FULL OF GOOD INTENTIONS

well I have the whole thing saved on the computer--both at home and at work. I haven't even listened to all of the songs yet. will I before I buy the CD on 3/21? Maybe...maybe not. Did I spoil it for myself? No--I still don't know what the disc will look like, the liner notes, the songs will definitely sound better on my stereo system than my laptop. Why does it matter if some people listened to it early? If you don't want to listen, don't; but who cares what other people do...don't let their actions "spoil" your fun. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
