Prince Music Turned Me Into a Pervert

OK ... so I'm sitting here listening to the music of my childhood. "Controversy" is playing hard through the speakers of my computer. Thank God I work by myself most days.

The song "Do Me Baby" comes on. And as I sit here (happily enjoying the warm feeling that is flooding through me and glad to be here by myself) I realize hey ... I was 13 when I bought this album.

My kid is 13.

If my kid was listening to this kinda raunchy mess, I'd be burning CDs in the backyard with kerosene as an accelerant.

That's when I realized it was Prince and his dirty mind that created the perv I have become today.

I can still remember the crush I had when I was 13. I thought he was superfly. And listening to Prince when I got home from school was just the mojo I needed to keep me (self-edited to keep me from incriminating myself).

After all these years, I'm still vibing hard on the music. It never stops creating the craving. And I tell you what ... there are some jewels ...

From "When I Lay My Hands On You" to "One Kiss at a Time" to "Do Me Baby" ... and so many others ... there is likely one of his songs as the catalyst to much of the fun and trouble I've had over the years.

I'm glad my kid likes Prince music. But I'm gonna keep the (stash) to give her until after she is married.

Prince's music didn't turn me into a pervert. It did however shape my open mindedness about my sexuality and that's a mighty good thing!

lol i remember in 10th grade when i played a prince mixtape i had with "Pink Cashmere" on it...as it got 2 the chorus,the baddest babe in the chourus class i was in at the time with a appalonia body and jill jones eyes/vibe, turned in my direction and smiled at me.... we got 2 talkin soon after and it turned out her favorite prince song was "the beautiful 1ns" then from there we got close like apples & the kid after he played "purple rain"....

In my opinion, The only Prince song that is capable of turning someone into a pervert is "Sister" off the Dirty Mind album. That song still makes me go UGGGGGHHHH!!!!!

I think prince just helped me go in a direction I was already headed and not feel so lonely, i'm truly a perv got the record to prove it.

I think listening to Prince from about the age of 12 (1992 for me) and then discovering all his music by the age of 15 made really appreciate loads of things.....
