Will Prince sell out venues in UK?

With an upcoming world tour most likely in the works, do you think Prince will fill stadiums in the UK?
Or will he be more suited to smaller arenas?
Please discuss biggrin

Hopefully he wont sell out, cause then it will be easier to get tickets!

Stadiums? No - he's gone too long without a hit and too many people have forgotten him (the number of people I know who ask "is he still going?" or say "you mean The Artist Formerly Known As...?" so they don't even know he changed back in 2000). Arenas? Doubtful. Small venues like on the "ONA" tour? Yes, definitely - although this will be a nightmare when it comes to getting tickets (hopefully the NPGMC will help out...)

He can play a stadium, but he wouldn't sell it out.

"EVERYONE knows he's one of the greatest showmen EVER !!" Do they? Even if they do, if people don't like his songs - new or old - they won't shell out £50+ for tickets to see him, will they?

he would still sell out arenas in the uk like nec, wembley arena and secc but not stadiums, not at the moment anyway.....he has been very quiet in the uk for years....all the musicology hype never reached the uk so he could be doing with raising his profile here again

I hope we never have to find out, stadiums are the most awful place to watch a gig. I saw Prince play Wembley stadium back in '93 and it was the worst experiecnce I've had of a Prince concertWhen I go to see an artist, I want to see the artist, not some 3 inch high figure off in the distance.Give me a smaller, more intimate venue any day.
RIP sad

Yes, but in America he's kept his profile raised by still appearing on TV on things like SNL, and also appearing at the Grammies and the Hall of Fame, not to mention the "Musicology" tour. His last appearances over here in the UK were on the "ONA" tour, which was incredibly small-scale, promoted somewhat like one of the old "hit and run" tours (and being on holiday when the whole thing happened I missed it - bah) and extremely low profile. Away from the fan community I'd say - prepares to be flamed now - Prince is largely forgotten in the UK.

hits or no hits, he will sell out in the Netherlands. Last time (2002 mad ) he sold out a 15.000 people venue twice in no time.....TRC wasn't exactly a hit here.....

Actually the Ahoy holds 10.000 people... but after the coming renovation it will be 15.000

A bit of promotion and I think Prince would easily sell out a few nights at Wembley arena or Earls Court.

I reckon he will given the right publicity.

PRINCE DO THE BRITS !

There's still a buzz about Prince. People know his reputation as a great entertainer and they still love the older hits like Red Corvette, 1999, Kiss, etc...

I reckon his time is coming around again as people are looking for a bit more from there music. Lots of people have become tired of the faceless music that's around at the moment.
Shut up already, damn.

He'd easily sell out a stadium. I alone know 20(ish people who would go). I think there would be 45,000 people willing to see Prince in the UK, put it that way.
