Will it ever be? Prince hosting SNL

My dream Prince hosting, not just playing on Saturday Night Live.

Too much to hope for?

Yes, it's too much to hope for.

You will rarely see Prince in situations where he's not in the pilot's chair for any length of time. Especially if its not playing music and potentially being the target of jokes that might be at his expense. I could see him doing a skit -- like the Prince Show -- IF he did almost nothing but sit there and that was the joke.

Actually Prince did pretty good on The Muppet Show and showed his sense of humor when it came to jokes about him...The man is cool and def cooler than most of the cast on the current SNL.

There was a rumor that he wanted Mayte and himself to host and be the musical guest around the early or mid ninties. I can't remember if it was before or after the name change. Also, he was expected to play Blue Light in April of 93(I think) but came down with a flu or something.

Yeah, The Muppets are about as close as he'll get to playing in someone else's venue. The Muppets' humor tends to be less cutting than SNL.

He'll get to it right after he re-releases all of his updated WB product.

Why would he want to host that show? It's been on life support for years now.

I love SNL and am a longtime fan (though it's been sucking hard for awhile now) and although years ago it would've been great to see Prince host, there are sooooo many reasons now why Prince would never host!

Also considering his JW stance on things now, I think he'd have a problem with a lot of the current humor SNL uses these days - men kissing in sketches, fart/shit jokes..all the base humor and shock value garbage they've been relying on for laughs recently. Even if Prince weren't in a sketch that used such 'humor', I think he'd be uncomfortable with affiliating himself to such. JMO

I could see P doing the show. Doesn't seem that odd of an idea.
