JLO mentions Prince

Prince has always got a lot off respect from fellow musicians and artists.
Bono,Jim Kerr-Simple Minds,Santana are but a few.
And it's great to know the 'new generation'also shows respect
for the man.50 Cent mentions Prince (10 years ago 2 PAC already
used a P-sample) and now JLO says she adores Prince.
Asked if she is influenced by Prince on the song 'Cherry Pie'on
her new album she says she grew up with his music, especially the
PR and Paisley Park period.
After Beyoncé and even Britney (not a great artist but she ones said
she listends to P during photo-shoots) it seems a lot off
today's POP divas are Prince fans.
I know He doesn't really NEEDS this, but it's nice to know
Prince keeps on influencing people.

I think it's become fashionable among musicians to state that P is your favourite artist. No doubt some adore him. But some of these brods just seem to think that a statement like that makes them a better musician.

Well it doesn't.

DEFINITELY! The song "CHERRY PIE" sounds very much like early PRINCE. I'm not one to say that 'every freakin' song' sounds like PRINCE , and how 'everybody' copies him. rolleyes But I had to check the credits on this song to make sure Prince's name wassn't on there. lol Did a thread on J.lo's new album in the non-Prince music forum. But did they want to listen to me...Nooooo! hmph!

cool A lot of artist(s) have been influenced by Prince's music. I do not consider JLO an artist she is just a wanna be. Prince has a major impact on most of the 90's & now sounds you hear on the charts today. It's a shame that a lot of these artist(s) do not have his talent to follow with. music

Britney's Slave For You sounds like Nasty Girl. I think everyone has a song that sounds Prince-ish. Sussussidio by Phil Collins reminds me of 1999.

J.lo better mention she adores Prince.

She pissed me off years ago when she stole Prince's Kiss-style by using a an all-too-similar guitar riff as her chorus in Play.

Won't forgive her for that, no no no!

I'm sure he loves JLo. Remember he's all about the beauty, not the talent necessarily. Remember, it's not like Vanity or Appolonia could sing. At least JLo is a kick-ass dancer.

Plus, she's short and has a baaad ass. She's also Puerto Rican which he reaally likes.

She's too much of a limelight hog. According to one of the P books, that's why it didn't work out with Vanity. She was too out in the spotlight, not quiet enough. Look at Mani's personality. Really quiet, same with Susannah. Mayte, now that's something else. Who knows? What the hell do I know.

People who have met her here on the org think Mani is a VERY strong woman and not at all submissive. Maybe not an attention hog but definatly not quiet.

Chill out people!!!
I'm not saying that JLO and others are true artists in a way
Prince is one.But who is??
The last decade their hasn't been a lot of real musicians in the charts or anywhere else,it's all Usher,Justin,JLO.....
But that doesn't mean there aren't some great tunes out there.
And if U don't like 50 Cent U probably don't like Snoop,2Pac,
Missy,Jay-Z or the Neptunes..Rap & R&B in general.
And don't forget Prince also influenced some REAL artists, unless
some of U think D'Angelo,Alicia Keys and Maxwell aren't?????
