When you put "Joy In Repition" on a slow romantic mix...

...does it kinda ruin the moment or the vibe because of all the segued talking at the beginning of the song?

I got the unsegued outtake version but its in bad quality.

Nope.

The whole song ruins the mood for me, not just the intro. Guys, when it comes to Prince's music and "doing the nasty," there's no need for a mix. Just put the all time sensual classic Ronnie Talk To Russia on repeat and you'll be boning and moaning until the sun explodes!

Yes, which is why I made my own version using the intro from the unsegued version
mixed into the released version as soon as possible to keep the sound quality up.

Yes i think it does... but then again thats what makes that song good. Because hes talking about a club, and all those ppl or whatever. But i think that song would be an awsome slow jam without the talking... but it still is.. hhmm i guess just ignor it biggrin lol

I would put it at the begining of a mix...and put the really good stuff on later
Doesn't it make you smile when you realize no one was there to see the stupid thing you just did?

For once I have a solution first! (Or so I think) This is my favorite Prince song so let me say I'm thrilled to be posting on it. BTW, please check out tbe JIR appreciation thread I'm about to post. Anyway, there's a version of the song that begins with an awesome beat of bass and then progresses into the song. Because of the way it begins it's PERFECT to be the first track (like it is on my slow jam CD) to get that thang poppin'! The build up let's you know there's a lot more to come.

^^^I can't find any other version other than the GB and unsegued, but in bad quality versions of it. But then again, I just remembered that in the GB movie Prince started "Joy In Repetition" skipping a few of the first lines. I'll see if I do something like that.

Prince is the man and all, but this one of the things I dont like about him. He always putting some bullshit at the beginning of his best songs. Like the cheering at the beginning of "Adore". I mean, its okay since it was segued into the SOTT album, but then he puts the song on other albums like the Girl 6 soundtrack, he doesnt have sense enough to remove the segued part.
He know we wanna make our own slow jam mixes for our ladies and shit. Damn...
