To the earlier comment about the Musicology tour only being successful because of marketing...last time playing the hits...Thats a load..this was his most accessible tour since Purple Rain..he played more venues, smaller venues...he simply made it easier for the masses to see him...most people I talked to at the shows even commented how they hoped he played his old stuff...they had no idea how the show was marketed...

The ONA tour set up the Musicology tour imo. Prince caused a nice buzz with his theater gigs on the ONA tour and he played a few hits those nights.

If there was no Musicology album but there was a Musicology tour, I think Prince would have still had a big year because he was playing the hits and the buzz created from the ONA tour. Plus, he was just off the chain during the Musicology tour.

The Musicology tour was played to Arenas which are not small venues at all. ONA was played to smaller venues.

Maybe he didn't show up because he didn't think he had a chance in hell of beating Usher like the rest of us. I was completely shocked when they announced Call My Name instead of Burn. It was cool as hell, everyone looked pretty shock.

Did anyone see the little Pre-Grammy's salute they did for Prince on the E channel? It was short but sweet. biggrin

I wonder when you're gonna come with anything resembling a response... Guess it's hard to get a cyber-butt-kicking, when somebody calls you out on a stupid statement and there's nothing you can do bout it.

Just callin' em like I see em.

You just can't play with the big boys! cool

Ooohhhh, a "cyber-butt-kicking." How vicious.

Well you really showed me. neutral

If you don't like what I have to say, then scroll on by. Prince won't be thanking you for coming to his defense.

Trivialize and deflect as much as you want, but the fact is:
Making a statement like "most of the tour sucked", was moronic and without any substance or credibility.
I called you on it.
You can't respond to it.
You attack and avoid.
You look silly.

Yes, I'm sure you would have preferred me "scrolling by".

Truth is I feel kinda bad for you. I'll leave you alone, as you've proven you can't respond directly to the above-mentioned foot-in-mouth statement.

You've proven my point well.

Man...did anyone see the woman sitting next to Usher? Holy Jesus! Can't blame Prince for not being there.....I mean "Black Eyed Peas"?? Is that band even about music? Wouldn't you rather chill with Mani in private? I would. And that J-Lo/Marc Anthony song was god-awful.

That was Usher's Rent-A-Date. And yes, the Peas are very much about music. The J-lo/Mark Anthony performance was very forgettable.

Maybe Prince was too busy washing his hair. I mean, what's the big deal...Prince isn't all about awards. We all know that. As for his fans...I mean, he gives us alot. Not showing to one award show doesn't mean he hates us. It just mean that he can care less about whether or not he wins. He's said it over and over again...his music is about him and his fans. Not about awards.

So, I'm not depressed. I'm still happy the music community is recognizing him and appreciating him like many of us have for so many years.

And...I'm SOOOO happy someone shut that cocky Usher up. I'm tired of him winning awards he doesn't deserve. Prince makes his albums. Usher is simply good at collaborating with others.

That's my theory...and i'm sticking to it.

Legs does feel what your saying. Since Prince has went through his spritual rebirth, a great deal of his most music on recent CD's and tours has become watered down jazzified and less rock and less funkedified and not up to par like it used to be. Yes, I would agree with you that the RNHF performance was up to his old standards which was cool. However, I am glad to see that he kick that old dried up trick ass Madonna in tourand album sales though
.

I just wish he'd kick ass with something worth a damn.

Expressing "opinions" would really only apply, HAD YOU SEEN "most of the tour"... (I LOVE the sound of back-peddling!)lol

Therefore, it is not opinion you expressed in that statement, but hey, why should we expect you to be able to respond objectively. You've been playing the villan part so long, you probably don't remember what that's like.

"Artificial bravery"? That's histerical, coming from EVIL White Male! You are a walking contradicition!
